Any idea why Palm has made these restricitons? Also, is there really no way around these restrictions?

PS: This, almost makes me not want webOS 2.0
I don't share all of these views--I'm not going anywhere--but I'm with you in general re: Launcher patches. I think those patches are some of the most useful made for 1.4.5, and I agree that the Launcher design in 2.x isn't all that appealing.

There's another thread showing how to modify 2.x to run the Glass Effect lanucher, which I ran on 1.4.5 and plan to install now on 2.x. It won't help with icon arrangement (hate the 2.x default . . . ), but it will look a lot better.

Landscape email is built into the OS in 2.x, and Power Button Ends Call has been updated for 2.x and is in the Preware feeds.

I posted this request in the patching section but I miss and desire the Default Month View in the calendar.

Off the top of my head, these are the ones I miss:

    -Clock default to alarm list
    -Calendar default to month view
-Clear app launcher (apparently not possible)
-Rotated/horizontal battery icon and percent underneath
    -Flashlight/Led torch

Is that the glass effect patch? If so, I think that is available.

Yea, that's possible. I added a completely clear image in the ColorPack zip.

One thing I would love right now is the ability to remove the "Back" button while playing flash content. I find that more often than not it gets in the way of a pause/play button that I so dearly need to use!

I would like: (for my PRE 2)

    Hide Quick Launch Bar
    Hide Just Type
Hide System Apps (ie - Musicplayer / You Tube etc)
    Message signature
    Wrap pages

Thanks for everyone involved in creating the Patches - without them, what would the Pre be worth?

No, it's not quite the same. The one I'm speaking of made the background of the app launcher completely clear.

    Hi,

I switched from Pre - to Pre 2 on O2 Germany a few days ago. I tried first to connect to my old profile and to recover all my data with ended up in a mess (Exchange/Google calendar entries, contacts, ...). But when I tried to install the Application Launcher Patch via Preware, it simply worked well.

Because of the email mess I had to factory reset my device and restart the configuration again with a new profile. Unfortunately, since then Preware does not offer the installation of the Application Configuration Launcher patch anymore, but a least my email and contacts synchronisation works well.
