Seems like they really don't care, though. The only way you can actually link to it on Rogers.com is through HP Canada's website. If you go to Rogers.com, you can't find it anywhere, not even if you search...

Also the pricing is ridiculous. Nobody would even bother looking at it if it's 99.99 on 3 year. HP should mark it down to free (don't give me the "carriers determine the price" bullcrap, Rubinstein, price HP Palm sells also factors in to the price from carrier) on contract to attract buyers. It worked for the original Pre, I see a lot more Bell Pres lately when it went free with the monthly discount.

that is extremely true, rogers has done nothing to even advertize the pre 2. I went to about 5 different rogers stores yesterday and none of them knew nothing about the pre 2. This is just ridiculous.

Yeah I went to a Rogers booth at the Eaton Center in Toronto,, no Pre2's anywhere. The guys behind the counter were aware the Pre2 was showing up "sometime" but didn't know an exact date...

No buzz and many errors in the specifications:

    WiFi:
    Yes: 802.11 b/g/n

    Camera Resolution:
    2.0 MP

    App Store
    No

And no mention of PALM as the Brand in any search on the whole Website

I think $99 on a 3 year plan is pretty compelling.

That is pretty average for a phone of this spec in Canada.

Sorry but no. As much I hate to say it, with the large-screeners like the Desire Z, Galaxy S Captivate/Vibrant, Xperia X10 at $49.99-99.99 range it's a tough sell. I know under the hood the Pre 2 is comparable, but consumers don't care. The first thing they look at is "it's too small".

As I maintain the Pre 2 should be in the Curve 3G / Bold 9780 class.

3 year contracts are the norm in Canada. Since Rogers is the only carrier in Canada getting the Pre2, there is no competition from other carriers to launch pricewars.
Try diplomacy first. You can always conquer them later...

Exactly...supply and demand dictate pricing for everything (except gas) and right now Rogers controls both.

They forgot to mention you need to have your Pre plugged into your wall or car charger, in order to get these numbers.
Rogers is doing the same mistake Bell did: poor advertising of a great product, with no marketing strategy in place. HP cannot "force" a carrier to advertise, they did their job by supplying the proper info and product. And you ask yourself why Pre does not gain a decent market share, despite WebOS awesomeness.

BTW, I'm getting a phone from HP directly, to activate it on Bell Network.

Well, I'm glad that the big price turned out to be for off-contract. $99 should be an effective starting point for the first surge of buyers. And I'm glad to see it on the rogers site now, as previously mentioned:

How did you find this link? A casual browse to see devices from their homepage doesn't show the Pre2 anywhere.

yeah "easily" - but not for the standard "wanna-byu-a-smartphone"-costumer. It's not popping up under any category -great marketing-

All I did was look under phones and devices and under either palm which is listed on the left index.. or phones up to 99 dollars. Not exactly difficult to find.

Rogers is always behind with everything.

They finally have you able to search for the Pre 2

In fact i just checked and they finally have it listed under "palm" now

They're just always "fashionably late".. i'm really surprised they did sell the pre 2 in the first place
