It was verified as per pocket-lint. No other source verified that information. All other sources refered to pocket-lint.

    No idea :/

The original Palm Pre came out with O2 in the UK to great fanfare, so we questioned the network as to why it wasn't on board with the sequel's launch.

We were told: "We’ve always offered our customers a choice of experiences when they come to buy a new phone and we were excited to add webOS and the Palm Pre to our range. We’re still fans of webOS - the Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus are available from us today - but won’t be taking the Palm Pre 2".

Sounds like a polite way of saying "not interested" if you ask us. Only time will tell to see if other networks come on board.

This means you could import fake Chinese iPhones, relabel them with Palm stickers, spit twice on them, and you would still sell more devices than HP will sell Pre 2's.

I would rather take the N8 or spend a bit more and take the HTC Desire Z for that amount of money.

    HTC Desire Z #99HLW008-00 - eXpansys UK

    £399 price point is suicidal.

Reports also say O2 are taking a pass on the Pre 2 which might explain their reason for a relatively early webOS 2.0 update release.

So no carrier subsidization (no carriers on board as of yet) and a £399 price point a la carte with zero marketing (even Google, who have more clout failed with this stunt).

The HTC Desire can be had for cheaper and despite it's age is still an equal or even superior device and is also quite popular to boot.

So yea...gd luck with that one Palm.

I think the price will drop in 2 months. The Pre 2 will probably become the cheaper sibling, unless there's a pixi updated form factor.

That N8 has some serious specs - could replace my HD camcorder.

I would be damned the thing is on sale for 399GBP.

    EDIT:
I guess the 12th Nov release date information was correct all along .
