I decided to wing it and send an email to Dan Hesse of sprint. I got his standard reply but then i received another email that i personally am not sure if it is customary or rare. What do you think?

    Email I sent:

    Dear Dan,

I have been a sprint customer for roughly a year and a half now. I Came
from verizon and fell in love with sprints plans, phones, and prices. I
origionally owned the instinct (origional one) and then moved to the
Palm Pre. I am in love. As a computer Science major in college and a die
hard computer geek, webOS is the best operating system on the market. It
is just so elegant. While android is rapidly growing and rumors of a
verizon bound iPhone are all over the internet, Palm/HP are currently in
the works to release their update to the Palm Pre, the Palm Pre 2.
Unfortunatly, as of now it seems as though Sprint will not be carrying
    this phone.

I am writing you to urge you, and in the kindest way possible beg you,
to bring the Palm Pre 2 to Sprint, OR if there are future plans to bring
a further-down-the-line webOS "superphone" to Sprint, please make it an
    announcement.

I truely love Sprint but am in no way compelled to switch to android,
and with the hardware in my Palm Pre very outdated, i am struggling in
what to do next with my upgrade that has been sitting in my account for
many months. Please help out us webOS forefathers and give us some well
    deserved new hardware.

    Sincerely,

    Jon

I received an email the same day that read this:

that is good for me to call or contact me directly at XXX-XXX-XXXX. My

Thank you for choosing Sprint and I look forward to speaking with you
    soon.

I work for a Major bank and the looks like some one in the Executive Response Team returning the email. That is a little better than a CSR but I am sure they will give the same type of an answer...

well, I sent an email to at&t, and at least your response seems better than what I got:

Thank you for contacting AT&T about your wireless service. My name is Russell Tullis and I would be more than happy to assist you today with your inquiry regarding the Palm Pre 2.

Upon reviewing your emailed concern, the Palm Pre 2 is currently being released in Europe and may be available in the United States in the near future. Currently phones being released through AT&T are usually announced the day prior to the release date to the public.

Mr. Fernandez, I hope this information has been helpful. We are here to assist you and appreciate having the opportunity to serve you. I encourage you to visit us at www.att.com/mywireless often to view your monthly account statements, make payments and shop for new products and services. If you have additional concerns or questions about this issue please reply to this email. If you need to contact us again regarding a new issue please send us another email via the contact link through your online account. You may also call us on your cell phone by dialing 611 or 800-331-0500. We know you have a choice in the wireless industry and we thank you for choosing AT&T.

my family members to switch to Sprint for the plans.

I LOVE my Pre and was always hoping to get the evolution to the Pre
and now it won't happen. I WON'T be switching to an Android phone, I
will be leaving to Verizon to continue enjoying Palm devices. I'm the

is about $10K in revenue, can you lose another $90K?

And received the following response from Sprint..

I got the same answer about checking their web site and all that happy stuff. Only difference in the email I received stated straight out, that they are not going to carry the new Palm device. But, to keep checking cause something may change.

As a FYI, the 757 number is for the Sprint Call Center in Hampton, VA. I do find it interesting they would be the ones answering all the dan@sprint.com emails with all things considering that the call center in Hampton is mostly staffed with CSR reps and not a dedicated group at the Sprint Campus in KS. So in reality I don't think they have much clue their own selves.

Here's the problem with the mini-protest/campaign from Sprint Pre users:

IF by some chance, Sprint hears the cries and does offer the Pre2 and it does NOT sell well - i.e. most Pre users decide to wait for the new hardware instead, then when the next Palm device comes out, Sprint will be VERY hesitant to offer that device.

Yeah especially because it looks like their hesitant after what happened with the first Pre. That's a pretty solid point.

With the holidays just around the corner. The new device about to launch, this would be the perfect time to start announcing something to begin the hype and begin the desire for the new devices for the holidays. I would love to go to the family gathering and show off a new phone. I would love to say how my phone can do this... Launching new phones for the holidays is just as much a plan for them as it is for the latest hot new toy. This new phone is like that hot new toy for us and it would be a disappointment to have to wait until the holiday season is over and were broke because were paying off the holiday bills to then launch a new phone that we should have had when we were in the mood to open our wallets. just my opinion. Thanks for listening.
