Does this mean that we'll be able to beat the pants off the stock Pre 2 when Rod Whitby and unixpsycho overclock it to 1.5Ghz?

Well I wouldn't say beat, but it does come close.

What I'd be excited about is the ability to clock the new phone up 70% or so.

Though I'm not sure how much more apparent a 1.7Ghz webOS device would perform over a 1Ghz.

Does the Verizon Pre Plus have that light bar in the Gesture area? Both phones look physically identical except the earpiece lol

    Dear Lord,
Please grant me the ability to punch people in the face over standard TCP/IP.

watch the video. it beats the pre 2 in most of dieter's tests.

Did they announce exactly what CPU they are using?

The results scarily make me think they just did factory overclock themselves which would be insulting rather than having a slightly more efficient processor

Thats a good question, and I could see HP taking this route after seeing the success the Homebrew community has with its Kernels.

You don't have to worry about that. There is no way they just overclocked to double the mhz.

Does that mean that webos 2.0 would just overclock our current phones as well?
iPhone 4s 64gb for personal, at&t Prē 3 for business. Best of both worlds.

No, webOS 2.0 does not overclock our phones. The Pre2 is not overclocked.

Possible.. We really don't know how webOS 2.0 works yet.

What I'm saying is that a True Speed Test would have cleared cookies and cached pages, browsing history, from the browser so that they are both starting from scratch...

Sure, but watch them both start up the web browser itself. Overclocked Pre Plus wins both times.
