I am trying to edit the tokens on my palm pixi plus and following the web os internals guide, I see that there is a command called tokens, however they don't discuss how to actually edit the value of a NVRAM token.

    Would anyone know how?

You can edit the tokens via the webOS metadoctor. Check the internals wiki for the Franken pre2 for an example.

Hi. I have a problem with my pre3. By mistake I disconnected the USB cable while I was running webosDoctor and my device was frozen in the time. When I use it for half an hour the phone is frozen and I have to force the reboot. I tried to make a hardreset, but it always stays at 12% and when I restore the partition it starts webOs on the same date with all the files it had the last time. It is as if the storage is blocked and does not allow to write anything. What can I do?

I'm gonna try to repair in this way, but I have a question about the section "Complete filesystem creation". It say "the following is for a 32GB TouchPad" and my device is pre 3 8GB. Could be any problem with the follow commands?.

thank you but I tried and didn't work for me

I have tried everything, and when it reboots, it is as if nothing changed. Check this out:

    Code:
    root@webos-device:/# lvm.static vgscan --ignorelockingfailure
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...
Found volume group "store" using metadata type lvm2

    root@webos-device:/# lvm.static vgchange -ay --ignorelockingfailure
8 logical volume(s) in volume group "store" now active

    root@webos-device:/# lvm.static vgremove store
Do you really want to remove volume group "store" containing 8 logical volumes? [y/n]: y

It says it's removed but I inmediately launch this command
    Code:
    root@webos-device:/# lvm.static vgscan --ignorelockingfailure
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...
Found volume group "store" using metadata type lvm2

Redundant stripes argument: default is 1
Logical volume "root" already exists in volume group "store"
STILL THERE!! LOL this is crazy... is it a hardware problem?

Mamisho, I didn't see where you recreated the "store" volume group after you removed it, but before you tried creating the "root" logical volume. If you refer carefully to the sequence of steps from webOS Internals, there are a few more steps there before you start re-creating the logical volumes:

    Code:
    lvm.static vgscan --ignorelockingfailure
    lvm.static vgchange -ay --ignorelockingfailure
    lvm.static vgremove store
    lvm.static vgscan --ignorelockingfailure
    lvm.static vgchange -ay --ignorelockingfailure
    lvm.static vgcreate -s 8M store /dev/mmcblk0p14
    lvm.static vgscan --ignorelockingfailure
    lvm.static vgchange -ay --ignorelockingfailure
I know mmcblk0p14 is not correct for your Pre3, but it should be a similar device name.
  13. #13
Also, can you novaterm into your Pre3, and run, "cat /proc/partitions", and post the output here?

Here is what it looks like from my spare Veer:
    Code:
    root@webos-device:/# cat /proc/partitions
    major minor #blocks name

     179 0 7815168 mmcblk0
     179 1 102400 mmcblk0p1
     179 2 500 mmcblk0p2
     179 3 1500 mmcblk0p3
     179 4 1 mmcblk0p4
     179 5 32256 mmcblk0p5
     179 6 27040 mmcblk0p6
     179 7 3072 mmcblk0p7
     179 8 3072 mmcblk0p8
     179 9 26528 mmcblk0p9
     179 10 32736 mmcblk0p10
     179 11 3072 mmcblk0p11
     179 12 2500 mmcblk0p12
     179 13 4096 mmcblk0p13
     179 14 32768 mmcblk0p14
     179 15 7421952 mmcblk0p15
mmcblk0 which represents the entire flash device, should be slightly more than mmcblk0p15, which is your media partition. Again, your Pre 3 might be slightly different.

I've seen the partitions be messed up on a 64GB TouchPad I eventually revived - you might get some pointers in this long thread I posted a while ago - TouchPad 64GB revival - memboot, volume groups, tpdebrick, Nova Device Installer NDI

Mamisho, I think this is all you need to do:

    1. Memboot
    2. mkdosfs -f 1 -s 64 /dev/store/media
    3. Re-boot to Bootie/Recovery mode
    4. WebOS Doctor

Skip the stuff about re-creating the volume groups - they look fine.
