Pixi won't embed GPS in EXIF of photos

Hi,
my Palm PIXI (webOS 1.4.5.1, verizon 1.4) camera app refuses to embed the GPS coordinates into the EXIF data.

If have followed instructions to turn location services on from the launcher, both GPS and Google Services (which seem to work fine in the Maps application), and allowed geotagging of photos, also restarted after trying different combinations of the above.

i have checked the EXIF data of the photos after uploading to my PC, using IrfanView, XNView and WLPG, GPS field is empty, a sample is below.
