yeah, we'll see.. But look at the Sanyo Incognito: super crappy phone, they stopped carrying that one because of so many problems (I know because I had one) and now they carry another brand (forget the name) that is practically the same phone.. I know, that isn't the same as 2 phones from the same company, but its kinda similar.
    but again, we'll see

just got off the horn with a "Kameka M.", one of Dan's representatives, and she said that the Sprint marketing team has gotten an OVERWHELMING amount of calls, e-mails and overall feedback regarding 2.x on their current lineup of Palm devices and they are considering it.
very nice to actually get a call from someone and be heard, even if we don't get 2.x

Agreed. I also talked to one of Dan's representatives about support for future HP devices. It's nice to be heard.

    regardless of who chatted and emailed with whoever;
am i to understand that my pixi that hp site states isn't compatible with webos 2.? (based on serial #, even though it considers my device "current") will be able to update to 2.? if sprint decides to offer it?
so is that considered an official update from hp and when it develops problems they then will tell us that it wasn't an official update and they can't offer any support for it?

I fell in love with Centro, and only upgraded because i wanted to be able to have multiple apps. This pixi has sucked more than wowed me. The browser is crap and only as good as the web site you're visiting. I never dropped calls or lost signal with the centro but i can only talk on speaker phone with the pixi and still not move my head if i'm indoors. I don't even know if webos 2. will be the fix i need for my issues.

The link that the rep referred you to for support is to a palm pre link yet you were asking about the pixi. When you try the device compatibility hp site, are you told you're device is upgradable? I get the message that an alternative option will made available to me. Can you let me know what happens when you use that site to determine your phones eligibility?

    whhat??
Palm made an excuse saying its not compatable just because they wanted more sales, to there Pre 2, i mean would u go out and buy a pre2 if ur pixi had the same software? theyre waiting for the sales of the pre 2 to go down, which is almost done.

Is anyone really buying them at all anymore? I mean the pixi because Pre seems to be the version they want to continue forward with. From what i've read, and i only skimmed, i think i bought the wrong phone. i didn't want the pre because of the slide out keyboard.

i just installed the universal browser for pixi. it's ok, actually faster browsing, but i lose the address bar. i have to play with it.

when i say im not sure if webos 2 would be useful to me, i say that because i have issues with user agent and forced redirection to mobile site vs full browser for some web pages and loss of options. until im able to find a browser that gives me control of how i'd like to view web pages, i'm not gonna be happy. (sadly, universal browser doesnt load full site view either) i was a happy camper until the last update from palm and one of my fave sites underwent a major overhaul. im screwed!

I think hp should follow thru with all promised updates regardless! it could drive me to work, but if it doesn't give me the web view i'd still be cranky. I just get stuck in a rut and get blinders on!

The only thing I like about the Pixi is the form-factor (bar + qwerty). I hate sliders. However, the Pre/Pre2/Pre3 are FAR superior in terms of hardware power. An ideal phone for me would be the Pixi form-factor (maybe slightly larger) with Pre2/pre3 internals. That'd be a wicked piece of kit.

i still like a qwerty, dont mind the slider, don't like the pull out keyboard. my kids have the hated incognito. they drive me nuts with the darn clicking. They text so much!!! i tell them just leave it open!!!!! i'm afraid of iphone, i need a keyboard!!! Veer looks almost too small. pixi is small as it is and my fingers have become pixi'd to adapt to the size. i'd have to lose a finger to type on veer.

The Veer compared to the Pre3? Not that enticing in terms of hardware power. Again, we have two options: the beefy phone or the weak phone. I'd like the beefy phone in the Pixi's body

I think this thread is awesome!!! I want to talk to Dan Hesse's Secratary too. I wish she would call me and let me know what HP plans on doing with there software. They must love giving away company secrets to random people. Anway I don't really believe any of this is true. Nor could I care less. I already have 2.1 and love it. And i really think the pixi would fall flat on it's face if it were to try and run 2.1, Oh well enjoy the battle zachy. Don't forget to put Quotes "On your convo tho or else it isn't real!!!!"

I totally agree! LOVE the pixi form factor and it is the natural progression form the Treo/Centro... Would have loved to have seen the Veer in the pixi form factor...

How was he trolling. He was making an opinion about a phone. He wasn't on topic but it wasn't trolling.

But to get on topic, I'm betting the reason Sprint is maybe going to release 2.0 on pixis is because they don't want to lose customers to Verizon. But I still don't see why someone would switch carriers just over a phone. Big waste of money.
