Step by Step - Screen Lock - Forgot PIN ??

I just purchased a Palm Pixi, maybe 3 weeks ago. My little brother was messing around with it and enabled this screen lock. He did not remmeber what passcode he set as he was mashing the buttons. Is there a way to bypass the screen lock enough for me to open it and turn off the screen lock. It is locked and I have tried everything. Thanks, and I am new to this, so if you could talk to me like im a 3-YR old, I would greatly appreciate it.

did you back up all your info?
i think the only way is to doctor it i believe?

I did not back up anything, so I assume doctoring it erases everything?

Doctoring your phone will not erase what's on the USB partition of your phone (music, movies, pics, etc.).

And most everything else will be backed up to Palm's servers and restored as soon as you log in to your Palm Profile...

But you will lose some stuff.

Have you tried the last 4 digits of your phone number?

Is the phone in Developer Mode?

no the phone is not in developer mode. I set the passcode once before, so the code is not the last 4. I am mostly worried about losing the text messages since I need an attachment. Any way to get in without losing these?

Text messages prolly ain't gonna happen... unless you know the super master unlock key!!

there's a patch to bypass the PIN... can you you install that via USB?

He won't be able to install a patch if the phone is not in developer mode.

I tried to doctor my pre but it asked me to connect my phone with USB plug...even though i connected it I couldn't choose the USB connection because my screen is locked? is there anything else I can do? like holding the power button and volume down button? someone said that to me but i'm not quite sure how to do it

well alot more then that. I have a 3 digit pin, and im pretty sure you can have a longer one too. So yeah glwt.

From the Palm website:

You can access USB Drive mode by pressing and holding the orange key/Option + Sym + U after connecting the phone to the computer. This enables you to access USB drive mode if the screen is broken or stops responding to taps.

I had to use it on my wife's Pixi when the screen/digitizer crap'd out.

has anyone found a solution to this?? i've got the same issue now, i created a lock code for the phone, and now its locked and the code i enter is always wrong

please help!! i really dont want to lose anything as ive worked so hard in making my pre the very best
