Go to DynDNS.com - Free Domain Name, Managed DNS, Email Services
sign up for a free account
create a host that points to the IP assigned by your internet provider.

example host: jvilly92.homeip.net, and have it point to your IP.

Another free site is No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP

Basically your assigning a friendly name to your ip, and you can use that name just like you would any other internet friendly name.

Like typing www.google.com points to 74.125.67.105, no matter where you are or what you're using to visit google.com. You don't have to remember http://74.125.67.105 to get to Google.
