im not sure if anyone has had this problem. ive read about random restarts, but mine turns off completely. randomly. ive tried wedging folded paper to keep battery touching contacts. still did it. its not super frequent. but if it were to do it while i was sleeping i wont wake up for work. not good. does anyone else have this or no why it might do this.

( i have a few patches and a couple homebrew apps, though it was happening before i installed those)

any help would be great. thanks

How long have you had it?
Does it turn off while it's just sitting there or is it being jarred some how?
    Have you tried WebOS Doctor?

So how often does it happen, like 2 or 3 times a day? Run WebOS Doctor on it and don't install any patches, themes, or anything requiring turning on developer mode. See how it does for a day. Good thing you still have lots of time to exchange it if it keeps happening. Check out this thread also.

I have the same problem. It will happen randomly, about 2-3 times per week I will take it out of my pocket or pick it up off the charger, or just pick it up from wherever it is sitting and I find it turned off for no reason. Its frustrating because I can no longer rely on my phone as an alarm clock.

I suggest the pair of you take your PREs back and pick up replacements. Mine has never randomly switched itself off, or rebooted for that matter.
