For all of you wondering where to get purple eargels, or want to know what they look like, I have found a seller who has them. Get 'em while you can! I just bought another Jabra set from this seller today so I'll have the purple eargels with the Treo hybrid headset. Regular gels won't fit because the headset on the hybrid is bigger. The purple gels should fit.

This seller has a bunch of them for sale. This one happens to say it's for a Palm, but it doesn't matter what the description says because they are all the same. Besides, all you want is the purple eargel, which can be seen in the pic.

Here's a link to the sellers page.

Shipping is $6.95, but bidding starts at $0.01. If you bid on one you probably will be the only one so the your total cost should only be $6.96.

Did you get them from him and, if so, did you try the ones you received from him on the SE 662?

I got the gels, but the ones that came aren't the same ones from the pic. I put that in another thread but forgot to post it here. Don't buy them!

Okay, after e-mailing over 15 sellers of Jabra headsets to see if they have purple eargels with them I found one that confirmed he has them! I bought a headset just now and will hopefully receive it in a couple days. Once it arrives I'll post again to let you all know if the gels are the right ones. In the meantime, here are three other auctions he has of the same headset I just bought. Feel free to e-mail him and confirm whether they have the purple gels, or not.

I just got my package today and the sets referenced above DO have the purple eargels with the "flaps"! Make sure if you buy from him that you let him know you want the sets with purple eargels. He may even have an assortment set with the purple eargels to sell! Even the medium and small gels in these sets have flaps!

Seems like the seller is out of these things. Good find though Tone!

Has someone ever asked Treo Central to have their store sell these things? As many threads this has spawned and all...

Shoot the guy an e-mail. He may have some in stock that aren't up in his eBay store.

The treo central store sells retractable headsets (http://store.treocentral.com/content...11-36--306.htm) that appear to have purple eargels in them. I ordered two of them (five bucks each?!?! wow that's cheap) and they indeed come with purple-like eargels. Are they the same as what you're looking for?

Here's the eargel I'm talking about:

From the picture it looks the same as all the jabra eargel pictures. Where are the "flaps" that seem to be the difference? you mean the part that goes in the ear or something that goes over the headset ear piece?
Well, it isn't perfect and it makes me crazy, but I still do love my Treo!

It's a part that goes over the headset. They provide more grip that the other gels.

My clear Jabra ear gels have the "flaps" on them, and they hold VERY tightly. I have never had mine fall off, and I didn't use any glue to keep it on.

But not all the jabras have these flaps? Do all colored jabras have them?

The ones I have have the flaps. I think the TC store is your best bet. And the retractable headset is the best non-bluetooth headset I've seen in terms of portability.

Cool. Before I order, I want to confirm:

I bought the clear Jabra's at Radio Shack. They had the flaps and worked OK, but they were too small for the Palm Hybrid Headset's earbuds, so ended up splitting.

The purple ones are bigger, so I'll be able to use them on the hybrid w/o them breaking?
Less than 400 posts to get my own little treo icon!

I personally use the purple (and blue) eargels with the flaps with the hybrid and they haven't broken. It's going on a week with the blue ones. The seller I bought my gels from is the first place I have found all three eargels to have flaps. The others only had the purple with flaps.

I've read Best Buy sells just the eargels. If you find one that has them in stock you'll be able to confirm they have the flaps before you buy.

OK, got the purple ones with flaps but can't exactly figure out how it fits. Does the top part that protrudes (not the part with the hole for in the ear but the similar protrusion above it) go inside the ear or sit outside the ear? Do you have a photo of it on your headset? Is there somewhere online that shows how it goes on?

I went to a cpl of best buys recently... and they now only carry the clear ear gels that do not have the "flaps". I do not know if this is just around the area I was visiting or if they changed nationwide.

It would be interesting for someone to take some pix of putting one of these on...

The best way to describe where that top part sits...

for me it sits between 1a and 2b, in the upper Concha (#3).
