Went back to 3.1 after running into problems with 3.2.2 and 3.2.5. Both froze my 650 at the very end of the process, hanging on a strange pdb file. 3.1 works perfectly.

Actually, 3.2.5 seems to have broken this, not fixed it. Both 3.2.3 and 3.2.2 work. Sent in a bug report and reloaded 3.23.

3.2.5 worked for me when doing BU after a warm reset (the only way I trust). I did not try restores (I don't trust it THAT much :-)

It restores fine, it just doesn't handle the db cache as well as 3.2.2 or 3.2.3. You can't really depend on any backup app unless you've tested the restore process.

There's ton's of dbCache available after warm reset. Maybe that's why it works after that.

    Quoting from Resco's page http://www.resco.net/palm/backup/aboutbackup.asp :

"Before blaming a backup program that it crashed, you should always try backup after warm reset. Eventual success suggests that the backup program might be innocent."

True, but that's impractical. I need my backup solution to work without requiring more than a soft reset before backing up; I can schedule a soft reset - I can't schedule a warm reset. Also, it must be able to perform a fresh backup (ie, after the backup files have been deleted) without crashing. Versions 3.1.4, 3.2.2 and 3.23 successfully perform fresh backups on my device, often without even requiring a soft reset beforehand.

I have backed up and restored with 3.2.2 without any problems at all. I alter my custom ROM as new updates come out and I have to do a hard reset after flashing with the custom ROM. I have used 3.2.2 four times now and each time it has restored without a hitch. I have not tried the 3.2.5. My philosophy go by the philosophy, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yes, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to do a restore from my card with complete success with 3.2.2.

Would you please post the 3.2.2 version. The new release is about to give me a brain tumor..
I've heard that polar bear steaks are tough, but maybe if you marinated them in beer they'd turn out all right.

    I'm still using 3.1.4.

Is the 3.2.5 App Icon still ugly as sin? Hobo on Crack?

Yay, it's official. I'm taking credit for v3.2.7. I reported a problem in v3.2.5 which they corrected (overnight I might add) with that new option.

Not the first time BlueNomad has provided excellent support.

No, I'm not a groupie, but I am a pretty happy customer.

    Cheers,

will someone let me know when the revision:

    1. is completely stable.
    2. has a better-looking App Icon (i.e. Not "Hobo on Crack")

    thanks

Personally, I'm finding that even this latest version and ChatterEmail 1.1.4 don't seem to get along very well. BBVFS seems to keep hanging on trying to back up open Chatter DB's

I am using CE 1.14 and upgraded to BBVFS 3.2.7 last night.
I performed two backups since and have not experienced this problem.

Out of curiosity, did you do the backup after upgrading OTA, immediately? Or did you hotsync and/or restart before doing so?
