Resco Backup makes this program obsolete. I use both programs because I paid for BBVFS and I figure I might as well use it. Well, the process of uninstalling BBVFS in order to upgrade it trashed my Treo. After a hard reset, Resco Backup saved the day with no issues whatsoever. It works every single time.

Both the Pro and Personal version downloads have been updated.
You can download the latest Pro from the same link as before:

    http://www.bluenomad.com/bbvfs/bbvfspro.zip

It should read 3.2.2 in the about screen after install.

Ps. the issue with the "last backup" date display is fixed in 3.2.2.

    Thanks,

OK, this seems to be working for me now. For a while, when running BBVFS after deleting the backup files, 3.2.2 was choking, just like 3.2.1 and 3.2, on the massive SnapperMailContent file (2477 kb...I still don't trust the Snapper move-to-card process ); after much futzing around, I discovered that removing SnapperMail from Resco Locker solved the problem. I think my SnapperMail was too big to lock down properly (~3988 kb) - I may have to look into using the SM move-to-card facility after all...

The Last Backup date is indeed displaying properly...thanks.

Wow, Glad to see BN devs monitoring the forums. I've been waiting for some of the initial bugaboos with this new version to be worked out. I've never been able to do a full restore from my card on my Treo650 since I bought BBVFS Pro. Hope this version has that all worked out.

Does it still hang and freeze if you perform a soft reset before backing up?

do you mean do a soft reset before EACH backup? not sure - i'm not doing that each time nor do i want to. the hang/freeze is intermittent and annoying. i paid for this app and the upgrade - i wish they could get it right. my backup needs to be BULLETPROOF.

what do you think of the icon???

I hate it. The small version is almost impossible to make out.

I've always made a point of scheduling a soft reset (via mReset and LookAtMe) before and after my scheduled backups and have never had a problem. This version of BBVFS does seem to carry a little more memory overhead - clearing the db cache beforehand via a soft reset just makes sense.

If I were you, I'd reinstall 3.14; this new version doesn't really represent a big leap forward as far as new features are concerned.

I installed 3.2.2 after upgrading from 3.1.4. My T650 locked up half way through the first backup. I reset and started again , it worked. I left it overnight and it was locked up again next morning after the midnight backup. I reset and backep up again, it worked. It tried it one more time it froze midway through. I notified Blue Nomad, awaiting an answer still. I reinstalled 3.1.4 and everything works fine again, no freeze ups.

Interesting...what file does it freeze on? Are you using compression and/or encryption?

i felt the same way at first, but i've been using it for two months now with no problems, just as an added precaution i have resco backup scheduled to run right before the snapper-to-card process so therefore i feel more secure.....just thought i'd throw that in the mix.

I second that. That icon really looks horrible on devices where the background is not white.

I need to take a call on my backup sw for the treo 650. My choices - An upgrade to Backup buddy from a version I used on my Clie - the other being Resco Backup.

The posting on this thread are worrying me. Bill Gamble and all, has BBVFS stabilised now. The latest version seems to be 3.2.15.

Are Install buddy and Backup Buddy for windows relevant anymore. You opinions would be appreciated.

I use 3.2.15 and it has been very stable for me. I have restored with it numerous time and have not had any problems.
