It's definitely not as easy to put on or take off as the original cover, but with the reset-hole I no longer see that as a problem. In fact, I rather like it since it makes the stylus tighter as well. (Plus no more squeaking) The flushness isn't *perfect*, but it's good enough for me. If that means anything.

Mine fits tightly, but is slightly wider than the treo body...so there's an edge there that wasn't with the original back. I use a skin case, so it doesn't bother me - it might, though if I used the Treo without one.

Then it really shouldnt cause a problem with my T65 case (or T66 if i bring that out of retirement)

If you find it is slightly tight, just remove the sponge from inside of the cover. It will fit well.

I was suppose to have received one from Seidio, but somehow it never came.

    Just as I figured.

The last response about the skinned cover was the quick one above from over a couple weeks ago. I've been putting off ordering becuase I think I'd be more interested in the skinned one. Any update Seidio?

Second cover doesn't fit hardly any better. The bottom right side still doesn't lock down fully as in the pictures I posted from the original one. I do thank you though for sending out the second one and I will use it as the reset hole is worth the slight mis-fit.

Did you remove the sponge inside the battery cover. I think the sponge is too thick for your battery. It will help quite a lot. Mine fits very well and I paid for mine too.

    Hi Ed,

Thank you very much for your feedbacks and comments. Seidio is always trying to develop and produce the products as perfect as possible. We have taken your feedbacks very seriously and have adjusted our tooling per your comments. I will send you a new sample today. Let me know how it fits and if the battery cover is locked perfectly on both sides.

We have tried this new version in our lab. The difference is hardly noticed. But I will send this one to you. Hopefully you can see the difference.

It will go out today. Let me know what you think.

Thank you very much again. It is the user like you assist us getting better everyday.

Wow, who knew an accessory could make this much difference in a device, I love this new battery cover! Not only does it add a much needed reset hole but the added tightness make the entire device feel more sturdy. My original battery cover creaked and would just slightly move when I was typing, this problem is solved and the Treo 650 feels more solid as a result. The cover is a little more difficult to snap on, but you really wont need to take it off so thatís not a big deal. Mine fits perfectly, no gaps or spaces. The color isnít a match with my Cingular branded 650, but we knew that and honestly, it doesnít bother me at all. Another added benefit is that my stylus is much tighter now. It wasnít loose before and it isnít too tight now, just seems more secure. I gave the reset hole a test run too, it operates as described!

    So you get:
    a tighter fit
a more solid feel to your Treo
    a tighter stylus
no more creaking/squeaking of the battery cover
    and a reset hole

    You donít get:
A perfect color match with a Cingular branded Treo 650. Though I believe they are getting another model in to better match the Cingular 650.

All in all a great product!

just so you know I am not paid or compensated by Seidio, though they did send me the battery cover free of charge

Hi David .... it looks like the 3rd try was the charm. The little tabs are noticeably longer, the fit is absolutely PERFECT even around the connector. Absolutely no gaps. Fits just like the OEM. There was no foam tape in the 3rd one but I moved the tape from one of the others and it's still a perfect fit.

Only problem was, this last one you sent me was a BLACK ONE and not the "PALM GREY" one as were the first 2 I got !

Would you like me to send back the good black one and the original grey one? I can toss it into your envelope and send them back.

By being given a product for free in order to report on it (for good or bad) you indeed HAVE been "paid or compensated" (not that it's a big deal, just a semantics issue.) I do understand what you were trying to say though, that you aren't an employee who is just shilling for them. http://discussion.treocentral.com/im...lies/smile.gif

Now if they could just send me one of those neat GPS systems I'd be happy to report on it! http://discussion.treocentral.com/im...es/biggrin.gif

I finally received mine, and am very happy with the fit. It is indeed tighter than the original, and makes the treo feel more solid. The color not matching does not bother me at all, since I have already put my egrips on it...can't even tell now. I am also considering one of those new skin cases too, so that would cover it as well. The only downside for me? The fact that I didn't have it 6 months ago when my Treo was locking up every other day! My Treo has been rock solid for several months now, so I really have no need for rapid access to the reset button...but it's nice to know it's there if I need it.

Like the above, I was "paid" for this commentary with a free cover, however that does not influence my opinion of it at all.

    Hi Ed,

It is good that this battery cover does meet your requirements. It is in black because it just freshly came out from the modified tooling. We have not done the silver painting. Once it is done, I will send you a silver one.

You do not need to send the black one back to me. Just keep it as our apology.
