My list somewhat duplicates what others have already mentioned, but here goes:

    NY Times - Front Page
    The Onion
    Expedia to Go
    Books@Random
    Space.Com
    Sci Fi Channel

When I know I will be traveling, I also add:

    The Weather Channel
    Virtually There Online

    Weather Underground
    Daily Almanac
    Fox News
    Joke A Day (Mature)
    MapQuest
    Slate
    Visorcentral

I had my local newspaper, but they changed the website and I don't know how to get it configured with AvantGo. The URL changes with the current date.
This is by no means an exhaustive list - just the ones that I've kept on since the start. Anyone know if it's possible to use hotmail with AvantGo (or anyway of getting my hotmail mail on my vpr)?

    Interesting suggestions.

One of my favorites is handheldcrime.com

Not a big crime/mystery reader, but the short stories are nice little reading breaks.

Still looking for that perfect movie listing site...

My favorite AvantGo channel is CanFilm (or FilmCan) it's a listing of all the movies showing in my town
You set it up by city, and there's almost every major city listed (I mean I live in Lethbridge, Alberta it's listed and I'm sure most of you have never heard of it)
    highly recommended for all canadians

Absoulte best movie listing palm software is showtimes. Bar none.

    Look for it on http://www.showtimestogo.com/index.html

They will even email your local listings. I perfer the old way of running a script that goes out to yahoo.com for them. Well they still use yahoo but I don't want an email attachment myself. I set it up to pull in 6 days worth Friday morning so I get all the movies in every theater in my area for the weekend+

Babylon5: the Showtimes to-go app is the best...but I could never get the Perl Scripts to run properly on my Mac...so I never had a chance to really use it.

Has anyone else out there gotten it to work on a Mac? Maybe its time I try it again.

(Of course this isn't really about Avantgo Channels...)

Most useful travel related AvantGo channel I've found is at http://www.japaninyourpalm.com (not listed at AvantGo's site) They've got complete English restaurant menus and loads of useful Japanese phrases.

Just so you know you don't have to run it that way. As a matter of fact they recommend you NOT to use it that way anymore. Now they simply send you email attachments of the .prc files you need for your area. No perl or major setup needed. Go to the site and try it out.

I like it the old way but that is just me
