    Sorry if this has been covered before, but I did do a search and couldn't come up with anything.
    I just received my new Treo 650 from Earthlink on Friday. So far, I'm having fun with it, but the lack of standard features (like voice-dial) and non-existant bluetooth/ headset support is a little frustrating, but I'm sure its something I can overcome. (I came from a VW e815/v710, so I'm no stranger to hacking a phone to get what I want)
    But since I got the phone, I've been having a problem. I've found that if the phone goes into standby/sleep for an extended period (sometimes as little as 30 mins) the phone cannot be woken up. NONE of the keys will wake it up, and I either have to pull the battery or do a soft reset to use my phone. While in this "extended hibernation" all calls go to voicemail as well. This is EXTREMELY frustrating.


    I have removed ALL third party apps including ( I only had a few trials to try & figure out what I liked, ringo, volumecare, takephone, etc) and erased all data, but it still is doing this. Any thoughts? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    This could be the SIM Tray problem.

    1) Take your SIM tray out of the Treo.
    2) Then take SIM card out of the SIM tray
    3) Put 3 layers of scotch tape on the back of the SIM *card*
    4) Trim tape to fit
    5) Put SIM card back into the SIM tray
    6) Put the SIM tray back into the Treo

    See if the problem goes away.

    I don't think this is his problem. He has an Earthlink branded phone which is CDMA.

    Ummm . . . My phone is through Earthlink, so its a CDMA model, no SIM card, right?
    If I'm wrong, where is the SIM tray? Thanks for the quick response, though.

    You've performed a hard reset and without restoring any data, the problem remains? That's a hardware problem - return the device.

    My fault! I thought Sprint and Verizon were the only CDMA carriers left.

    No biggie. Earthlink resells Sprint/Verizon service (depending on the minutes/package you get) anyway. I only wanted to stay with CDMA because they get service in the subway tunnels and I need that when I'm in the field.

    Guess I'll be calling Earthlink now. Thanks for the help & quick responses. I doubt this will be the last you here from me.

    I used to have this problem. I performed a hard reset and I have been slowly adding my old apps one by one over the past month. The problem has not returned so far.

    I tried that, but I haven't even loaded Earthlink's "TotalAccess" And its still giving me a fit. So I called & they're shipping me out a new one early next week, so hopefully this will be fixed & I can get back to picking out a set of apps that work well together.
