It IS a newer version comparing to the last official version. And I have noticed it too. Because it is working better. I haven't tried voicedialing yet.

Go to the application launcher, menu->App->Info/version: you'll see Bluetooth v2.0(W).
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

So, is the bottom line that we Cingular branded (Scarlet "C") junkies will get ours around Super Bowl time, 2006? Just in time to evaluate the Verizon 700w?
Remember, the "P" in PDA stands for personal.
If it works for you, it is "P"erfect.

How do people on the other end of a phone call percieve the call (sound) quality after this update? This is my biggest complaint. When I call someone they say I sound garbled or fade in and out, even tho I can hear them just fine. Nine times out of ten, they end up calling me back on my landline phone. Kind of makes using the Treo as a phone pointless! If this is not resolved...I'll NEVER buy a PALM made phone again...I'll go back to NOKIA!

Exactly my problem! As useful as an ejector seat for a helicopter!

SW1.14/FW1.43 has made this problem worse (I get complaints of echo for the first time) and I'll be downgrading back to SW1.13/FW1.31 tonight. If FW1.51 sorts this out for once and for all, it'll make Treo 650 the best phone I've ever had, but at the moment it falls far short for this sole reason.

I get the fading in and out with 1.31/1.13 but i think it has more to do with turning my head and getting a way from the mic. My wife yells at me when I do it.When I am careful, it doesn't happen. I wonder if Volumecare can increase the mic sensetivity?
Never underestimate the power of freedom!

    Treo 600, 650, 700P and now 755P.

What's the version of media? Does it open jpeg and videos as fast as it should?

The fact that they are being careful with this update (1.43-1.51?), combined with the windows treo that is coming out, probably means that this will be the last major update for the 650. They will be focusing their energies elsewhere I suppose....

Will the update have the bluetooth carkit stuff that the last sprint update did? For me this isa big priority. My phone hardly ever crashses.

Wouldn't it be good if the new firmware supported sd cards larger than 2MB.

    Hi darklord,
thaks a lot for keeping all of us updated about your testing.

Can you tell me something about the freezing problem for GSM 650s? I had it at least once on all my 4 replaced GSM. The 80% of users report it (see my poll).

Recently Palm Europe "admitted" to me the problem after my complain. They also promised to fix the problem with a new TESTED 650 (shouldn't they extensively test ALL their products??) and/or a new FW release.

    Can you report about it?
    Are you FREEZE FREE?

    Thanks again.
    Ciao.

Go away. We're all full up on crazy here already.

Until now, I wasn't aware that there was a 2GB limit... thanks for mentioning!
  19. #79
    Yes 2GB limit (not 2MB)

How funny! I hadn't noticed that he'd got it wrong!

I guess I'll have to leave my purchase of a 32GB SD card until after the firmware is released! lol

PS - *joke* of course, 4GB is the max for now...
