I seem to recall that the GSM ROW update was followed by a CNG update maybe 2 months later.
I guess it depends on where sprint and verizon follow in the queue. The advantage with the CNG update (in terms of getting it sooner) would be that it's not too different then the ROW one.

My apologies. All I saw was Darklord's message saying that he would provide more info as soon as he has it, and your message a short time later on the same day asking for information. It is true that I didn't know your motive for the question. Sorry.

Hey, Sprint has already had two updates. Can us GSM'ers catch up for once

Wow, Palm is really making sure it really works this time. I dont really bother waiting but I hope once they release this update, problems should have been solved.

I'm testing FW 1.51 (still beta) right now. The sound quality is better. BT connects faster with headset. Overall performance is faster. Can't say anything about stabilty yet, but according to P1 it should be a lot better. More info coming soon...

Can BT voice dial, or is it asking too much of Palm to offer the same BT whatevers as every other manufacturer?

    What's the software with 1.51?
  12. #52
1.51! Wow, that represents at least a 20 build jump from the last official 1.31 firmware, and 8 from the recent 1.43 beta firmware that we've all been playing around with (I'm not presuming that one increase in sub-version = one build).

My only real gripe with the handset is that the sounds quality is often so bad that I have to give up (making calls is a fairly basic requirement of a phone, surely?!!), so it's great to hear that sound quality has been improved! Thanks for keeping us posted, Darklord!

One question - when they send out a beta, don't they provide a list of what has been fixed so that beta testers know what to fix? So is there any chance that the person from whom you have obtained this beta can supply you (and therefore us) with this list? Or you unable to post such a list for the same reasons as you're (understandably) unable to post the firmware itself?

I have been holding off buying VC waiting for the next update to resolve volume issues. My biggest gripe has been low volume.

P1 isn't very eager to share their fixlist. But a few fixes are for sure and those are:
    - BT more stable (tested with headset)
    - louder audio (so don't buy VC yet.)
    - overall stability (also with Goodlink)

Software/ROM version is still 1.13-ROW, which I find very strange...

Great, let us know if you notice anything else. What versions of Blazer and VersaMail are included? Latest versions in the wild (from SW1.14/FW1.43) are Blazer v4.2 and VersaMail v3.1C...

Yes, that IS odd... and seems to suggest that they develop the SW and FW releases separately (because FW1.43 arrived with SW 1.14)...

According to PalmAddict, there is a new ROM release for Orange customers - http://palmaddict.typepad.com/palmad...50_rom_up.html

I guess this would mean that it is coming sooner rather than later for other GSM users.
