I was wondering if anybody knew of any free or shareware programs that would run under Win 95 and emulate the Palm OS, so that I could try out programs before copying them onto my visor.

Syncing is a real pain for me (It's a long story), so I was trying to find something that would let me give things a little trial run.

If you visited the link above you`ve probably noticed you need not only emulator itself but also ROM file with OS. If you have serial cable that`d be easy to get, but if you only use USB sync you would have to get it somewhere... or download PalmOSGNUTools_201.exe from handspring. It contains PalmDebugger.exe that supports USB. You shall then put your Visor in craddle, write graphity Shortcut+<tap twice (to put a dot)>+1 - this will set your PDA in debug mode. Now you have to start PalmDebugger and write in it`s main window this text: `save "visor.rom" 10c00000 200000'. Process will start and when it is finished you`ll find file 'visor.rom' in "Handspring\PalmTools\bin\Device\" folder. Put it in emulator`s folder now and - off you go! Treat your emulated Visor just like the real one: install apps (drag them on it`s screen), sync (you`ll have to connect COM2<->COM1 and set it in 'options') and be careful, don`t drop it
P.S. Reset your Visor immediately after downloading ROM, as it consumes energy twice as fast and won`t sleep as it`s in debug mode!!!

There is a near constant thread in the
developers corner that gives instructions on this,
and more on hotsync'ing the emulator (you can also
do it a network sync). It seems silly to
    post all the info twice.

I`m not developer myself. I just use POSE for several months with different ROMs, now with one from my own DLX. That`s why I`ve never visited devsection. And also if guy asks about emulators here he doesn`t know about it too. Guess server won`t crash if I post some 'almost useless' messages, right? IMHO this is what it was made fot. Enough for that. Period.

    And here it is...

While duplicate postings seperate forums aren't necessarily "useless", we try to prevent them to keep thing streamlined (and easier for the newbies ).
