they recommend that you install it from your from.

browse to the site, follow the instructions and download and then open up your java program and it will install. it's actually pretty easy

Thanks. The polite way would to be say that I was strongly influenced by you. However, a less polite characterization would be I stole your concept for an avatar.

Anyone know anything about enabling png on the treo? The site mentions that it is compat with the 650 "With PNG Images enabled (for satellite imagery)". The way they put it, it sounds like a simple setting toggle.

nvm... figured it out. have to have a server host the png conversion script. without that, it looks like satellite images are out.

Has anyone gotten this thing working? I'm jumping around from blank screen to blank screen. Operator error, I assume.

Sounds like you need a pnoJpegLig file. I remember WorldMate needing this file to display satellite images.

This seems like something I could really use but I'm just not clear on the directions.

    1. I've downloaded the ~8MB zip file on my pc.
    2. I've downloaded the mgmaps.jar and mgmaps.jad files on my pc.

Now, how do I install them on my Treo?

I downloaded and installed the very small .jad file using the Midlet HQ program. Can't seem to get the satellite images to work, the maps do, but with a lot less detail than Kmaps. It seems to me that the documentation says that if you can view .jpgs you should be OK, but as I said, I don't see satellite images. I'd say this is a very early, barely working version.

Can someone please outline the steps for me? I would really like to try this out but just am not sure on the insatllation.

I've performed the following two steps but now I'm stuck:

    1. I've downloaded the ~8MB zip file on my pc.
    2. I've downloaded the mgmaps.jar and mgmaps.jad files on my pc.
