Thanks Cadams. I didn't have WIND.

WIND works great on the 650, and WMAL does too (though wmal buffers intermittantly sometimes, and solid at others).

Are there specific personalities you're looking to hear?

    6am-9am: Bill Bennett (WIND)
9am-noon: Gelnn Beck (KLWT 1230 streams his show http://klwt.serverroom.us:8000/listen.pls)
    noon-3pm: Rush (WMAL)
    3pm-6pm: Sean Hannity (WMAL)
    6pm-9pm: Mark Levin (WMAL)
    9pm-midnight: Hugh Hewitt (WIND)

And that pretty much does it for me.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I listen to Laura Ingraham as well. Beck has been one of the hardest to track down. I actually had that station bookmarked already, but didn't know he was on the schedule.

For those using MobileDB, I've created a little RightWingers TalkRadio database. Nothing too fancy. Covers the Rush, Beck, Ingraham, Savage, and Levin broadcasts I've been able to find in streaming MP3. Includes Station name, City, State, Time on/off, Days on, Station URL, and Stream URL. You can click on the Stream URL and it should pass you to Blazer and open the stream for you.

Let me know if this is useful, or even usable.

    Cheers,

    Micael

I'm running MobileDBLite so it doesn't let me click the links but it looks great. Thanks.

Since I can only listen to streaming audio (shoutcast) at lower kbps, I was wondering what it would take to accomomdate AAC. Is it possible? Where is the incompatability issue?

    Sorry if I am spamming...

The bitrate I've found in stereo is 32k. Groove Salad is 24k I think, and its mono on mine too. I wish ptunes would add aac and aac+ support.

You're streaming these to your 650? I've tried some of them from this site in the past and the 96k mp3 streams buffer like crazy. The 700p should handle that fine with evdo, but I'm a year at least from upgrading.

I see that site also supports 24k aacplus streams.

Come on Pocket Tunes, you've made your money. Can't you spend a little and open up to some new formats

I second the WFMU and KEXP nominations -- great commercial-free independent radio.

Other stations I listen to along a similar bent --
KJHK (Lawrence, Kansas; eclectic) -- http://129.237.151.10:8010/stream_low.m3u
KBCS (Seattle; blues, folk, jazz) -- http://kbcs.fm/kbcs.pls
WWOZ (New Orleans; mostly fantastic New Orleans music!) -- http://wwoz-sc.streamguys.com:80/

And two noncommercial stations with a slightly 'liter', commercial-like sound, but still great if you like folk/blues/world type stuff:
    WFUV (New York) -- http://www.wfuv.org/wfuvmp3.pls
    WXPN (Philadelphia) -- http://wxpnsc.streamguys.com/listen.pls

Anyone have any other recommendations along these lines? I guess KCRW Santa Monica would have to be included; what else?

I used to listen to WMAL all the time until about a month ago. They changed some stuff around and all of a sudden it buffered alot. I'll try them again. Maybe they've improved. I listen to WIND, WWGE, WBAP, KSCO and KFKA most days, and then Astreaux World when its crash time at night.

And no, no video, streaming or otherwise, for ptunes. I use tcpmp for video on my 650, and as far as I know, only the 700 handles streaming video. (with the exception of the proprietary mobitv on the 650)
