phurth, started this thread but I feel the title left out the real meat of this. I have been wanting SailingClicker to support PC for some time now. After only playing with it for a few hours, I purchased. Great program with every thing I need.

So thanks phurth for bringing this to my attention.

No longer Mac-only. This is an awesome app to control your PC and it's apps from your Treo or other mobile device. Think controlling iTunes remotely with album art displayed on your Treo. Cool!

I wasn't sure where to post... it could have fit many places. Perhaps a mod could merge my original post in the Applications forum into this one.

I can't speak for everyone's experience, but I've found it to be an extremely cool, but also extremely SOLID program.

I've been using it on the Mac for a while - now I'll be able to use it on my PC as well. The new version works over a network via WiFi as well as BT (so far it seems to work better when re-establishing the connection)... boy, it'd be nice if the Treo had WiFi...

Also, the upgrade from 2.x to 3 is FREE, despite all the new features. I'm glad that the developer will now have a much wider audience.

I agree with everything you said. I just felt you title was bland compared to the PC being bought into the circle of trust. It wasn't that it was in the wrong forum or anything.

Amazing how these threads of ours just sink like stones. :P

I just wanted to add a few things, that I feel could make Sailing Clicker even better. First would be to have SC allow the palm to turn it's screen off, therefore saving battery. Second would be to add the feature to allow the user to search by genre. Third would be when you are in the list searching for artists, that you could use the keyboard to jump to artists that start with that letter. Example would be I would like to find Miguel Migs, so I goto Browse by artist, push 'M' on the keyboard and BAM I am at the 'M's. Fourth would be for when an album is playing I could just hit the menu button it would then take to a list with all tracks on that album, then to get to further menus behind it you could hit the menu multiple times (i.e. one menu press takes you to the tack listing, two presses takes you to Search and other functions, three presses takes you to the main menu).

I am sure some of you folks out there have your own opinions so let's hear them, let's try and make sailing clicker better than it is already. I have submitted this thread to them so they will be aware of some of our ideas.

Could someone give a good summary of what this product does? The website doesn't seem oriented to PalmOS devices, or have a good summary...

Progress? Well, at least I can get color traffic maps now...
    Psion 3a -> Psion 3c -> Palm IIIXE -> Palm VIIx -> Kyocera 7135 -> Treo 650 -> Centro

Control iTunes or WMP, Powerpoint, or whatever you feel like(with scripts) with your Treo. I use it to turn my Treo into an iPod interface of sorts using a computer as the hard drive. I have got an HTPC at home and I use this to control the tunes that paly form the HTPC. All over BT.

Remote control of many things on your PC, including iTunes, Windows Media Player, PowerPoint, and much, much, MUCH more - all from your Treo via bluetooth (or almost any PalmOS, Windows Mobile device, or SE cell phone via BT or WiFI).

There's a trial... you should check it out as it's extremely well-done software.

what kind of BT adapter do you need on the pc end to pick up the signal sent by the Treo. How cheap or expensive are these?

    Thanks,

can this thing seriously not control over the internet through the data connection? My god, if it did that, it would be freaking perfect. Even this way it's great, but like that, it would be AMAZING

aha! I just put it on my treo, and it looks like you can connect over tcp/ip... does that mean that I DON'T need to use wifi, and can use data? I'm bouts to find out!

Have Pre3. I would like to use it to remotely control a laptop's media selection using Bluetooth. The Pre isn't listed on Clicker's website that I can see. I cannot use WiFi as the connection is out of range.

Will this product do what I require and which option do I select to download?

So many questions - thanks for any appropriate response.

This is an old app that is not actively developed anymore. It was made for the older crop of mobile devices (Palm OS, WinMo, Java) way before webOS and iOS, and it hasn't been updated to support newer platforms. You can try and contact them but the forums seem dead.

Im not sure how many such apps are available for web OS (check the catalog) but
Sconix has been doing a lot of work w/ Home Control. The UI, as you'll see, speaks volumes, and from following the progress, HC looks very promising.
