I've heard that polar bear steaks are tough, but maybe if you marinated them in beer they'd turn out all right.

Installed the new version on my GSM Cingular and the LED is stuck.
I tried hard reset, new install. STILL STUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you go to the LED options, then click the "Reset LED" button (says "Use if LED 'sticks' ") ?

Use LEDOff in combination with Butler.. Works great for blinky alerts, but normally off (my preference anyway

Any word on when Rob will fix the preferences issue? It's a little annoying to have to reset everything everytime you upgrade

I upgrade from 3.23 to 3.28. I got tired watching my Treo run through reset loops. No thanks. Think I'll stay with 3.23.

Agreed; very annoying. I have the LED stuff set up in a specific manner so it behaves the way I want it to, so I gotta open up my little cheat sheet notes on it to set things back up the way I like them each time I upgrade. Happily I only use the LED and Notifications, not alarms and other stuff. If you used all the Butler features, upgrading would be REALLY annoying.

I'm getting frustrated. Woke up to a hard reset this morning when I tapped to dismiss the Butler alarm. I was expecting maybe one of those prefs-losing resets, but you'd really think it should be more difficult to get a hard reset. I guess maybe it's that new stuff they added which is supposed to prevent resets, or at least make them less destructive. Back to the drawing board on that one, guys.

    I'm using 3.27, BTW.

I just started using Resco Locker that that has greatly reduced my resets, both the standard soft resets and the ones where I have to restore my preferences. That being said, I don't blame Butler for all of the resets. I have a refurb unit waiting for me at the Sprint store since I've been getting a lot of "chunk" errors. We'll see if that resolves my issues when I pick it up this evening.

I have not had any LED problems with the latest version.

You mean your palm came up blank, like it was brand new!? I haven't heard of or seen a hard reset on the Treo 650 or any nvfs Palm.

You mention it wasn't 'just' a preferences-losing reset, so.. Yikes?

Using butler 3.0 and loving it. No resets. I'm not sure what upgrades the newer versions have made, but i'm not upgrading until i get a clear reason to

You can delete this version. I used Dinstaller. I had a problem when my treo reset after the d-install. When the phone turned on, my treo would reset. I solved this by cancelling the radio, hot-syncing, soft reset, and then installing a previous version. Good Luck

I'm on ver 3.17 and it's been rock solid since the day I installed it. Couldn't live without it.

3.28 works fine for me; as has any of the last 12 to 15 versions.

I have upgraded to every version for the past year. I cannot recall a time that I have ever had a problem with Butler. In fact, I can't remember the last time I had a reset that I didn't cause to happen on purpose.....and I have MANY third-party apps. **knocks on wood**

Yeah, it was a HARD reset. I was asleep, heard the alarm go off, tapped "clear" to turn it off, and of course the screen blinked once, and then it reset (what else is new?). I was waiting for it to reboot to see if I had lost my prefs, and it comes up with the screen asking me if I want English or Espaņol. What a way to start the day!

Sad to say this is not the first (or even the second) time I've had the Treo spontaneously hard reset. I am convinced the NVFS is crap. I've owned six old-school Palms that never once lost any data on a reset, much less hard reset by themselves.
