Back in July 2005 I had a Treo 650 (Verizon) for 14 days as I wanted to see if I would like the phone.
I really did and now that my contract is nearing its end (November), I plan on getting one for good.

Question is, I saved my Palm database on my PC and during the 2 weeks I had my Treo, I copied my hundreds of contacts, notes, calendar items to the Treo. Now I wonder if I can just synch the new Treo (which will probably have a different firmware) with the information from the old Treo -same model 650.

Is this doable? I'd rather not have to retype all that information again, but if it's going to cause issues, then I won't have a choice.

    Thanks!

Yes. Make sure you hotsync the old Treo before the new one. The usernames on both units have to be the same.

Read the OP again; I returned the old Treo 650 within the 14 day trial period, so I can resynch the old Treo.

It's not a problem. Assuming you didn't delete any of your treo stuff from the desktop, just hotsync your new treo. The desktop treo software will think that you're hotsyncing the sam treo but that it hard reset for some reason. It will attempt to restore everything. Let it do a restore and then you'll have the exact info from your last hotsync on your new treo.

If you meant to ask if I uninstalled the desktop software, no I didn't.

Before returning the old Treo 650, I actually exported my contacts/notes/calendar, so I could just start from scratch (new desktop install) and just import those files?

    Thanks!!

If you didn't uninstall the desktop software just attempt to hotsync as-is. When prompted to restore info from old hotsync name, say yes. You should get all your old info restored and all will be fine. If that doesn't work you can always hard reset and start anew.
