I'm using PTunes 3.1.1. After using pTunes for about 20 seconds, the whole Treo freezes up. Won't respond to anything. Haven't tried a hard reset yet, thought...

ok, now after a few more days, it powers up on it's own, and then stays
on, draining the battery down if it happens overnight, or I don't notice it soon
enough... It turns on and then flashes the screen every 10 secs. or so,
even though I have the power set to turn off after 30 secs.
    But still no freezes....

ok, so I've gone from freezes where it wouldn't turn on, to now where it powers up,
and won't turn off! someday they'll get it jusssttt right...
(I turn it off, and it comes back on in a few seconds every time, a soft reset fixes it for a while).

I am using Cingular with 1.13-ROW (modified to remove Versamail, etc.) and HW 1.43. I run PTunes 3.1.1 with no trouble.

It must be some other interaction going on there... or flakey hardware.

I did the upgrade a few weeks back with a custom rom. the other day I had that 'wont turn off' thing happen. but it only happeened once. as far as sound is concerned, I have had people complain about the echo, but rarely and only if (bizzarely) its another treo 650. I run out of memory every few days, but that compares favourably to every hour or so as I had in the past. after reset, it does take longer to get to the time / date screen but this is because I loaded more apps into the rom. all in all, I feel like I finally have the Treo I was supposed to have 5 OS's ago. it works and it works well.

    Short Question:

I have upgrded to the 1.43/1.14 and it worked well unitl 5 days ago. Since than my Versamail do not wants to synchronize with the Exchange server. Always giving the error "There my not be enough device Memory". On the other side I have approx 12m free.
Do I have to go to the 1.13? If so how can I do this. I have tried and the updater says that the newer version is already installed and than it cancels the installation.

Is there any way that I can stay on the current version and do some configraution?

    Please help.

    thanks,
Hard reset and manually add back your apps one by one, until you discover the culprit(s). I've never seen this "won't turn off thing", myself.

Does the Calendar in the v1.43 firmware display the date/time when doing a global find? The version in the current official ROW ROMs is v1.2.1, which doesn't show the date/time. Recently I installed a copy of v1.2.2 from the LifeDrive simulator which does show the date/time and I'd be interested to hear if the new firmware has been updated at all...

The calendar in 1.43/1.14dbg is version 1.2.3, and does indeed display the date and time in the results of a find operation.

    That's good news, thank you!

Found the cause of it constantly turning on: 4Cast (either by itself, or because of interacting with 2day)., which sort of makes sense, as I also had problems with powerUp/2day after first upgrading ...

For what my testing is concerned I've been FREEZE and CRASH (except for some caused by 3rd party apps during tests) FREE for around 2 weeks. I still have echo problem managed with VC.

    What about you all?

I'd really like to open a poll about 1.43 and FREEZE, but as I've already opened 2........I'm sure you'd kill me!!!!!
    Ciao.

I am using a Cingular T650 with 1.43 and 1.15. basically freeze free for weeks. The only issue is an echo on the the other end of a call. I too use VC. How are you using VC to manage the echo?

Just got lucky, I first disabled anything that I was aware of that might be running behind-the-scenes, i.e. volumecare, plug-forward, butler, etc. but that didn't solve it, then I noticed once that when it turned on, 4Cast was still on the screen - and I realized that 2day was still polling it every few seconds, but even after I disabled that in 2day , I think I still had to stop 4Cast itself from auto-updating.
Try to disable any apps that might be running one-by-one until you find the culprit.

btw, I also found a problem when I first installed the upgrade, I had the older version of the Cingular Network Select Hack (Phone_enUS.PRC) installed, so I had to remove it.
    There's a new version available for 1.14/1.43 at: http://www.hively.com/selectnetworkhack/

I've got a cingular with 1.43/1.14dbg. Bluetooth is a lot better. It now works with our BMWs and use with my Motorola HS850 headset seems a lot smoother.

Excuse me if I'm a little out of date, but is 1.43 available for 650 unlocked/GSM?...I have an unlocked 650 on T-Mobile and am on Firmware 1.13. I went to PalmOne's website and didn't see any firmware higher than that.
