Actually, I had that error with BackupMan consistently _before_ updating to 1.43/1.14. Since I upgraded, it's the first time I have been able to backup without disconnecting first. With me, it was something to do with GoodLink, but the update cured it, not caused it, for me, at least.
(RescoBackup did work, but since I had gotten used to BackupMan, not to mention paid for it, I was interested in getting that to work.)

It's called Scientific Calculator. I got it off a colleague's treo in ten seconds. Here's how: I put my sd card, with FileZ in the Launcher, in his treo. I copied the SciCalc files from his RAM to my card. Then I put the card back in mine and copied the two files to my RAM.
It's not in ROM, but I can live with that, at least for now.
If you don't have access to another Treo 650, send me a PM and I'll email you the files.

That was me who posted about that. Let me tell you, I've been PISSED that CF hasn't worked on the 650, as it has crucial functions that no other app duplicates. The app wouldn't even start on my 650. Now, it seems to work. Your mileage may very, as it worked for some 650 owners before the upgrade. *shrug*

I upgraded to 1.43. No problems encountered.

I noticed louder speaker volume, but more noise in the same time.
    I haven't noticed anything else.

I don't use the Media app that much, but it seems faster...was "Draw on Picture" a menu choice before?

I just realized that now with the new FW when I get a call, and try to push the down volume button to mute the ringing, it doesn't work anymore.

    Anyone else have this problem?

Wasn't that only a Cingular feature?

Upgraded to 1.14/1.43 this evening... Phone-related performance (Phone app, volume esp. speakerphone) is MUCH better, but Blazer now fails to completely load some large pages (dslreports 600k mspeed test, regular web pages with lots of pics on them), either failing to display some images on the page or giving an "out of memory" error despite lots of free memory. I haven't seen any resets caused by Blazer as others have, though. Any ideas on what might be causing that? I already tried deleting everything Blazer-related (owner BLZ*) except for bookmarks in FileZ and it didn't help...

I upgraded to the 1.43/1.14 FULL ROM and now cannot connect to T-Zones. I have the Unlimited T-Zones Pro package. Anybody else have this problem? Don't have anything else loaded. Is T-Zones temporarily down?

I had this problem and other multiple "low memory" errors until I HARD reset the phone. This was complicated by the fact that BackupMan wouldn't backup correctly either. I used Resco Backup (as suggested by someone else on this board...thanks!) to make a successful backup to SD card, hard reset, and restored. Now browsing works, BackupMan works, and I'm no longer getting "out of memory" messages.

Another suggestion from this board that I tried at the same time with Blazer, was to set the "memory limit for storing pages" at 5 MB, and check "clear cache on exit". Not sure if this or the Hard reset solved the Blazer problem.

I have a new issue with the 1.43/1.14 upgrade. Is anyone else using ChatterEmail and storing their mailboxes on the card?
I have this weird issue where sometimes when I go to look at a message, the text is blank. For any message. If I reset the phone it's okay. But then if I go back into the card, for instance with FileZ, I can't see the message contents again until I reset.
Someone said that they think they updated the card drivers with this software. That would explain this issue.
But does anyone else experience anything like this?

    Thanks.

This time though, it was different. Even though I did go in and out of reception areas, my treo did not freeze once. So, it looks like they must of changed something for the better. The true test will be tomorrow morning when I make my daily commute to lower manhattan via the PATH. Usually it will freeze up 2 to 3 times a week as I go out of range and then come back.

    Lewis,
any news from the Manhattan PATH? Are you still "FREEZE FREE" after the update to 1.43 fw?

    Please say yesssssss!!!!!

Have tried 1.14/1.43 both stripped and full. After restoring my apps from backupman there was a problem with fragmented dynamic heap ram for me. According to the app memory_info the largest chunk was 2.1meg with 4.5meg free. I could not load a medium size pdf file that i need to look at. Got a few resets starting up some apps too. I've tried looking into how to defragment dynamic heap and UDMH both without luck. Went back down to 1.13/1.43 and memory_info shows largest chunk is 3.1meg with 4.5meg free. I can run all the apps I am used to so I'll stick with this. All 3 versions of the new rom showed similar cache ram improvements and all the other reported improvements.

I used to get the slow-mo bug with 1.13/1.31 or 1.15/1.31. Since using the various versions of 1.43 I have not had that bug once so far. That stupid bug had me turning on the treo a few times a day just to see it wasn't hung. I'm still turning it on throughout the day but now am pleasantly surprised it is not hung.

Another thing I noticed on 1.14/1.43, blazer would not remember where you were when you linked to another page then backspace to get back to the previous page. It would start at the top of the page again. That was a little annoying. Maybe it's a feature of the new version of blazer. Although I might have had that problem a long time ago. Can't remember. Anyway, no blazer problems with 1.13/1.43 and seems to be a much shorter delay between the "sending" and the "receiving" message.

Last thing, someone mentioned PXA Clocker. I don't remember running it on 1.14/1.43 but it works on 1.13/1.43. The only thing I am sure of is it won't run on Cingular's 1.15/1.31 rom. It says so right on PXA Clocker's web site.

For me, This is the best and most problem free version yet. Don't care if it is a debug version. I could stay on this and be happy.
