I have been to 4 leather cases of which i dont like.
i was thinking about getting something else
    how are those cases

anyone can give feedback about silicon skins. I end up putting treo in my pocket all the time. i hate bulky cases for an already big phone.

are they all the same or different (belt/no belt clip i know, but in terms of quality)

    do you recommend that?

If you're a pocket guy, silicone cases don't add much bulk. The only negative about them is that they don't come out as easily (can work as a plus for you, since the Treo is already slippery). Also, they can attract lint.
That being said, I like the protection they add, and the grip factor. No more fear of mine slipping out of my hands.
If you're strictly a pocket guy, I'd say go with no clip.

interesting ... the silicone cases sold on the treocentral store come with a lanyard. However, no explanation is given of how to use it and there is no place to attach it. In the picture you sent, the image has a little tab with what looks to be a hole to attach a lanyard. It also has a hole cut out of the back for some reason.

But it is a modification of the same case. It would be interesting to know where all these are coming from.

I have a silicone skin cover that I got off eBay about just after I bought the unit mid-June. Mine is the one with the belt clip on the back. Works well. I have dropped the treo into the gutter while this cover was on & it didn't scratch it up, while getting out of the car. Slipping the cover on & off to reset is a pain - seriously considered drilling a hole in the Batt. cover for this. Over time the cover gets looser (probably related to how many times it's been on & off) - I paid A$17 for it from HK/China. Far as I can see they are all made there no matter what the brand. Overall v.good.

I have the silicone case from Brando which was US$20. It looks the same as several other different branded ones. It hasn't stretched so far, and has been used for a few months. My husband then picked up a Speck Skin tight for me at a local computer store. which isn't silicone, but similar idea anyway. I'm using that right now. (without the belt clip). Neither add any bulk, and I like the grip factor.

I got a silicone skin like this - solid black, with an anti-dust coating. I think you'll find that the little app, mReset, will often save you the trouble of removing the skin to perform a reset.

I didnt take a look at the app, but just curious how an app can reset when your treo isnt responding (which is really the only times I ever need a reset).

it can't. mreset only helps in those times you need to reset and your treo still IS responding.

No, if your Treo isn't responding, you'll have to remove it from the skin and physically reset it. Thankfully, I rarely have to reset under those conditions.

I purchased a Speck silicon skin from TreoCentral. I honestly don't use it anymore. I found myself needing to remove my SD Card frequently and the one I bought did not have a cutout for the SD card nor did the clip have a cutout for the headphones (I drilled my own though). I was a bit irritated by these two omissions, of course you don't see that out until you buy one

If you want your SD card slot so well protected that you have to remove the Skin to take the SD Card out and don't mind that you can't plug in your headphones while the Treo 650 is in the holster, I guess it's ok. Otherwise, I'd consider a different brand...

I got one from www.t-dimension.com for $8 each. Don't know if there's a difference but I'm happy with it. I went ahead and drilled a hole in the battery cover for resetting. I figured if I have to have the treo replaced, I'll just swap covers.

I started out with a leather case, switched to a silicon skin, and love it. I don't remember the brand, although I recall that it also came in a bluish color.

A screen protector is a must with them though; there wouldn't be anything to protect the screen in your pocket otherwise.

But I've had it now for 2 weeks, and greatly prefer it to my leather case, which I never use anymore.

Agreed. I also had issues with it stretching within the first week. That made it loose, which bugged me. Taking it back.

I use the Smartphone Experts S650 skin case and I'm happy with it. It has a cutout for the SD card (and cutouts for everything else as well). Doesn't add much bulk, keeps it from getting scratched up, makes the phone easier to handle.

I find it makes the five-way pad easier to use--without the skin I kept accidentally pressing the center button, but the skin makes the edges of the pad stick up a bit more. And it slides off pretty easily so getting to the battery compartment hasn't been a problem (though I worry about it stretching and becoming loose over time).

It seems to be in the medium price range for a skin case, but it was the nicest one of the three I looked at. Plus it doesn't have a belt clip; many of the others come with either a clip or a holster, and I don't need either one.

Oh, yeah... you don't want to use a skin case if you ever use a docking cradle. Probably obvious, but it wasn't something that had occurred to me.
