Er, no. Not a stereotype. Just wrong.

Anyone with a brain in their head takes what is said by any CEO of a listed co. to the street with caution and never completely at face value. It is usually after being carefully tailored to meet an ends and checked with the legal dept.

Take the political correctness to your next rally for Greenpeace.
My comment had nothing to do with being politically correct. You claimed to have worked with "plenty of CEOs" but your posts make it clear that it was just a childish boast.

    In a Treo 700 p

essential features are high speed internet access and wi-fi, and more memory before getting to a card. Recognition of larger cards is essential. plus the current screen size cannot shrink. If I wanted a tiny phone, I'd get one.

Backwards compatibility would be nice. I may have to upgrade some apps, but preferably getting a 700 p doesn't mean everything I own is obsolete. If that's the case--maybe it's just as easy to get the 700w.

After that frankly---nothing is really a "killer" upgrade although there are a host of things that would be useful. A better camera would be nice, but it is still not going to replace my real camera. Better screen resolution would be nice, but even what I get on the 600 is fine.
If it doesn't have a slot for SDHC--I don't want it. Period.

I am not buying. 64MB is what the 650 should have had. They need to catch up, not continue to lag behind.

What does everyone want to see in the 700p?
Hey Jimmie, here's my wishlist for the 700P:

    • EV-DO (With EV-DO, I don't see the argument for WI-FI, given how it might really drain battery life)
    • Having said that, I could really go for built in GPS
    • BlackBerry Connect (Need this for the office to let me have the thing)
    • 320x320 (Looking forward to increased res, since I'm coming from a Treo 600)
    • Bluetooth support for the A2DP Profile (Been eying this sweet Plantronics Bluetooth Stereo Headset)
    • Bluetooth DUN
    • 1.3 MP Camera
    • 64 MB of RAM to combat NV Memory issues
    • I would really enjoy updated Palm databases. I've been using KeySuite to sync more of my Outlook data with my Treo 600 and it would be great if the internal databases were more closely aligned with the fields that Outlook uses.
    • I'm cool with the form factor remaining the same

Now having put my hopes and dreams on the table, I have to say that there are a few things that I can do on my Treo 600, which shouldn't go away:

    • Ringer switch!!!! (I love this sucker. Has really saved my a$$ in several meetings, you know when you forget to put it on vibe! There have been a couple of times when I've had to calmly reach into my pocket during a meeting, when my phone was ringing, to switch it off and nobody knew it was my phone )
    • All the one-handed, stylus-optional goodness
    • Solid build quality. I bought this Treo 600 on the first day it was available (GSM with the Handspring Flip logo on it, exactly two years ago), and I've had no problems what so ever.
    • Full sized SD slot. Not interested in investing in miniSD or microSD or whatever the hell it's called!
    • I imagine it would have a removeable battery, but I could care less either way. Of course the other side of the coin says that since this device will appear on Sprint first, I'll probably switch networks. Historically, CDMA Treos have gotten a little less battery life than their GSM equivalents, so being able to swap batteries won't be a bad thing.
    • Nice sounding external speaker
    • Extremely useful speed dial
    • Intuitive address book search. Handspring built this and I've always been so impressed with it. Basically I can type a couple of letters when searching for a contact and it will bring back all the matches of the people whose first or last names begin with those two letters. This is pretty standard stuff, but the excellent part is that it will also return anyone whose initials are represented by those two letters. Great feature, don't lose it!

Well that's all I can think of right now. We'll see what January brings!
    My 2, it's all I can spare

Not unlocked. With two year service agreement. Check out tigerdirect.com.

I checked out your website and am going to have to send the link to my girlfriend. She's going to love it. Her family lives for BYOB. But you left La Locanda off your list over on 3rd between Race and Arch. IMHO it is the best BYOB in Philly. At least for my tastes. That's right where I'm at. Wireworks at 3rd and Race.

As for this 700P in January rumor, I'm just not buying it.
ROOTING for WebOS makes me more sympathetic to Cubs fans.

Jeeter I think you descibed what the Treo 700p is going to be without seeing it,lol. Ev-DO, better bluetooth, more memory, and camera. I moved from a 600 to 650, 320x320 compared to 160x160 is like night and day, you will love it.

If there is a next Treo of course it will have EV-DO. I don't think there is any question. Whether it has wifi capability will be an issue. I'll bet they eventually release an SD or card that will provide it... but they will not release drivers for the Treo 650.

    Ah, well. With service agreement.
I have a carrier, and while I hate T-Mobile on general principles their data policies tend to be better and cheaper. You don't actually have to buy a data plan for instance.

P.s. I do have that restaurant listed under "G," it's full name-- Ghittone--->La Locanda del Ghiottone

PPS> You may want to change your signature to "SIXERS" this year.

These days you can get a real digital camera with 5+ MP that isn't much bigger than a credit card, and has a real zoom lens. 320 x 320 is better than 160 x 160 but it is still rudimentary enough so that I can't get excited about so poor.

Sounds Good Already... I really DON'tT want to have to go BACK to Pocket PC...!

I like that "antenna" thing on my Treo. Gives it kinda antique touch, and besides is very handy to fetch the device from the holster.

If you travel a lot then 'antennaless' is much less conspicuous to flight attendants. I prefer not to have flight attendants watch you like a hawk thinking you are working with your "phone". This big gray antenna is a like billboard saying "phone" instead of PDA.

My guess is the 700P will look exactly like the 700w. Form factor will not change. Think about it guys. why spend the money to R&D and create a completley diff unit when all you need to do is change the OS? It worked for CDMA vs GSM
Waiting for Palm Pre on AT&T then can replace my iPhone. Needs Doc To Go and Flash

This is sort of like chatting at the bus stop while you wait for the bus to arrive. Nobody wants to walk away and admit the bus may not come.
  18. #218
Yeah, that's right. And besides, it's "Hollywood" that's supposed to be "antennaless", not 700p: http://www.palminfocenter.com/view_story.asp?ID=8224
