So after looking at this a little closer, could we get two more entries on the map screen (other than the two custom maps)? There should be room. I'm making the assumption that you have (at least for the US) the state abbreviation and city name either from the yahoo data or from the database where you store the city choices.
The first link (more important) would be to http://m.wund.com/auto/mobile/MD/Thu...matedzoomradar
MD would be the state abbreviation and Thurmont would be the city name.
The second link would be to the satelittle picture:
    http://mobile.wunderground.com/satel.../Thurmont.html
Again the same replacements as above.
The links would be passed to the OS to use the default web browser to view.

No need to try to save the data or display in 4cast (unless you could open an instance of blazer inside 4cast which I don't think is possible). It would simply provide a quick way to get to those maps.

Thanks for considering even if its not possible or feasible.

Edit: A third link could be for radar:
    http://m.wund.com/auto/mobile/MD/Thu...ture=zoomradar
Again the same replacements as above.

This would be for something that 4cast would normally fail to display. I'm not sure if you could do that bit of magic.

(Right now I just go into blazer to a bookmark but the above owuld save a few steps.)

It would be even better if WU was consistant enough with their name that it could be automatically done with the city but I highly doubt it.
    Hi,

Not sure I understand what you mean -

Are you reffering to the "custom maps" links ?

Are you suggesting I allow using 4cast to view the built-in maps, and blazer for the custom maps ?

Nevermind. It's been a long time since I've played with the maps. I can add my linkes as custom maps (although I only have two choices out of the three).

Is there any way to automate those links so I don't have to retype them for each new city? I travel a lot so having to type in two custom addresses for each new city is going to be a pain. It seems straightforward is you have the state data handy.

Could we get a third custom map?

    Hi,

What I ended up doing is - for the custom map URLs - if the URL is not for a JPG file, I hand it over to Blazer.

This way JPGs are displayed within 4cast, but GIF files or other animated URLs get shown in Blazer which is capable of handling them.

    Hi all,

    Version 1.90 (020) posted at www.shsh.com/beta

    - Display: round temperatures up if needed when
    converting to Celsius.

    - Alerts: improved layout of weather alert text display.

    - Custom maps: if URL does not point to a JPG file
hand it over to the web browser.

    - KeyGuard: added interface for KeyGuard utilities to
show 4cast info. First implementation is within the Nexave freeware
KeyGuard (by http://www.metaviewsoft.de) attached in the ZIP file.

    Thanks.

Shimon, the KeyGuard feature is a good start. It would be nice if you created your own or nexwave could be updated to change the level of transparency... It is too difficult for my old eyes to figure out the layers of text before the display goes off. I do like the option of having page down also unlock though. If nexwave would add a timeout option it would be even better. But since we're talking about 4cast here, I'd also like to see a bit more of 4cast has to say on the KeyGuard screen.

That said, thanks as always for the update!

I couldn't get the enable field to stay hightlighted. Neither the unenable field. Then when I left the app, I was surprised that it was enabled but I couldn't get rid of it. I pressed the center buttonl, then up, down left and right.

Finally, had to do a soft reset to allow me to then delete Nexave.

Maybe I did something wrong. Not sure.

Also I have to agree with Scott L's comment. It was too transparent for me too make out.

    Regardless,Tks for the 4cast update.

Yikes!!! The keyguard came back after I deleted it. I looked for orphan files and didn't see any.

Again had to soft reset (removed the battery) then deleted it again from the Centro launcher.

I hope it doesn't come back this time.

    Good Luck

Thanks Shimon, that's easier to see - though still quick! I noticed that when I don't read it in time and the display blanks out, if I press the red button to bring it back I get dropped right into whatever app was last used. So much for Key"Guard".

Scott L--I can't duplicate what you're seeing. I'm using 4cast 1.90 (20) and nexave 1.3b. When the keyguard times out and turns off the screen, and I hit the red button immediately, the keyguard does return... Maybe I'm not getting what you mean?

    Hi,

Could it be a conflict with another app ?

How do you have your JeyGuard setup in the system "Prefs" ?

After reading about nexave elsewhere I learned that "Auto-Keyguard" has to be set to "When power is turned off". I was using after 5 seconds... Once I set that the way nexave wants it everything worked as it should. Thanks.

    Hi all,

    Version 1.90 (021) posted at www.shsh.com/beta

    - KeyGuard: added big weather icon & current temp fields to info
structure (for future use by KeyGuard utilities).

Note: Please get the updated Nexave version (1.3c), too.

    Thanks.

    Shimon,

I would like to see you add the % change of rain to the graph screen on 4cast. I dont think it would crowd the screen and would prove useful for the user.

The cloud/rain/sun icons at the top look great (and I'm not suggesting you remove them) but having the % as well would be more useful.

The graph screen is the one most visited by me - one glance and it tells me most of what I need to know. I was really glad when you added this.

    TIA

You mean per day ? Not sure Yahoo provides this info.

Yes per day & I know on the web site which I use, you can place your cursor over the day & a pop up windows appears with details & a % chance of rain for the day (one number for the day)
    TIA
