    Hi all,

    Just posted a new version - 1.70 (006) - at www.shsh.com/beta

Fixes an issue detecting & displaying the "true for..." date (used to sometimes show a date earlier than the real one).

    Thanks.

    my maps are back!!!

I've been trying this for about a week. Seems to have some potential to be an excellent weather program. However, I think that Yahoo is going to hold it back. For me, Yahoo doesn't use all, or perhaps the regular, radar sites. Therefore, the Yahoo site for me is a couple hundred miles away (Talahassee), instead of my local, Jax. Also, after using wunderground for so long, I am spoiled by the local radar and the animated radar, which is the best I've found.
  4. #324
Exactly. True there's no guarantee that wunderground won't have outages (none that I've seen) or change data formatting, but as far as weather sites go, it has quite a bit more information and is far superior to Yahoo.

I'm content with 4cast's use of Yahoo, but if problems persist and 4cast wants to make use of the greater amount of information, I'd be thrilled to see wunderground integration.

The forecast I just pulled down with 4Cast for my zip code says Saturday is going to be "Mostly sunny". Wundergroud says Saturday is going have scattered thunderstorms. Who's correct?

So I checked weather.yahoo.com directly for my zip, and it says... scattered thunderstorms. I was going to get a third opinion from weather.com when I noticed that the reports provided by Yahoo are from weather.com.

    Hi,

    Just posted (yet another) version - 1.70 (007) - at www.shsh.com/beta

Yahoo web page new format: Allow auto-power-off when displaying a Yahoo error message (used to keep device powered on).

Please let me know if this one works ok for you - I want to make a release already...

    Thanks.

Sometimes 4Cast will display 'no forecast' as a helper in 2Day until I move the selector to highlight the 4Cast line. Is that something old from 2Day, a new particularity of 4Cast, or is it just me?

US Zip code 01432. The city code entered into 4Cast, as originally provided by Yahoo, is USMA0025.

Now it's showing the same forecast.

What do you have set for "Update every" option at the "Plugins" preferences page in 2day ?

2day rotates through all defined cities in 4cast every defined period of time.
Maybe you have a city not updated...

I have it set to update once an hour and have 4 cities defined, including two irish cities (one very small). I didn't realize that it updated them even if they were not selected. Could well be that one of the other cities is not updating

It works. I got my forecast, which matches Wunderground's, maps, and a weather alert. Updated via hotsync.

Thanks for the new release! Now a feature request for the next beta

Updating via HotSync: Could you implement an option to only update via HotSync a certain number of times or once a day? This is an issue of you HotSync a lot like I do.

    Thanks, Shimon

I can't get my town or zip code to work. Any ideas? How do you find your city code at Yahoo?

    Hi,

That may be complicated, but I will consider this.

    Hi,

Simplest way is to go to weather.yahoo.com using a desktop pc, and try locating it there.

    What city is this ?

IMO, it's only an "issue" if you re-sync within an hour or so of your previous sync.

Realizing that if I don't like that function, if done, I can simply not set it, what is the issue you have with frequent 4Cast sync-updates?
