I saw the brief demo today on the new Microsoft WIndows Mobile Treo 700 on Verizon in the US. I saw 2 capabilities demod in the new phone app that seem to be good suggestions to TakePhone. What are your thoughts:

    1. Send an IM to someone that you look up in your contacts
    - In TkPhone, search for a name, you now have the ability to call, email, SMS, etc. But not to IM. Could this be added as an option? Maybe could just hand off an address to a local IM app, like Toccer for AIM or Verichat, etc.

2, Have a custom designed voicemail popup screen to play voicemail prompts or any other voice response app that you use frequently
    - In TkPhone, you could dial a number, like your home phone voicemail, and press an on screen key to pop up a custom list of functions for that particular device or app. For instance:
    1. Play------- plays something like *2
    2. Delete----- plays like *9
    3. Save------- plays like *4
    4. Forward 8 Seconds-- plays like *78
    etc.
This would make it easy to work with any app you frequently call for voice response

    That's it for now.

    Ideas? Thoughts?

    Hi,

Those are cool features they showed...

Regarding IM - this would require the IM application to implement some sort
of an interface for TAKEphONE to launch them passing the target address. Not sure they do support this.

Regarding voicemail macros - been thinking about this for a long time.
    Might add it.

    Thanks.

great. Just saw some interesting features and thought that TPhone might be the best app to implement them. your work is fantastic on the Treo.

I've had "voicemail" touchtone macros way back - like on my Psion 3a and Psion 3c. They are extremely useful for answering machines, banking menus, and voicemail, of course. (On the Psions, you held the device to the phone mouthpiece, and the built-in speaker generated the touch-tones. That's how it dialed for you too. Yes, the Psion was very trick for its day.)

I've not been able to use them since moving to the Palm world, and I just never thought to ask someone to impliment. Shimon, you're the guy now...

Progress? Well, at least I can get color traffic maps now...

    Hi all,

That's a neat idea, and I have been thinking about this in the past.

Let me think about it some more...

Definitely got a vote from me; I'd love to have that! BTW, TakePhone is one of my favorite Palm apps...

    OK people.

Let's see what we can do - first I need as many command names, so please list all the commands your voicemail system handles:

    - Play
    - Play again
    - Save
    - Delete
    - Play all
    - Forward
    - Main menu
    - Reply

    Very cool!
Any way to launch the app when it connects to the voicemail (or is it supposed to be doing that now and I'm just missing something)? When I call voicemail with the [1] on the keypad the screen stays on the phone app.

On the "voicemail screen", the [>>Forward] button will forward the message to another person rather then going forward in the message. Perhaps a different icon here to set it apart from the [<<Rewind] button (which actually does rewind the message)? <After looking at the app better, realized that you could change the button configurations>

When in the "voicemail screen" you can't use the number keys on the keypad, you need to switch the screen to "keypad" using the drop box. Any way to enable the keypad while in the "voicemail screen"? Reasoning behind this is that you need to enter the keypad screen to enter your password, then change the screen back to the "voicemail screen" to use the on-screen options. Alternately, perhaps a user programable button on the "voicemail screen" for your voicemail passcode? <After looking at the app better, realized that you could change the button configurations>

    As always GREAT WORK!

    Pause
    Skip

Go to the "Current calls" screen of the Treo (so that you can hangup, mute, handle speakerphone, etc.)

So 2dial only works if you have takephone installed? Can you make one that is independent?

    Thanks,

I must have gone braindead. I can't seem to access the Sprint keypad to use the macros during a voicemail call. I have Takephone. How do you launch the macro keypad when on a voicemail call?
