2dial has nothing to do with TAKEphONE right now.

I might add later a function for it to be launched automatically by TAKEphONE when you call a voicemail.

    Just launch it normally.

Launching 2dial from within Takephone would be key for me. Ideally having it start after I dial my voicemail box would be perfect.

OK, so the way it works is by doing the following:
    1.Dial 1 for voicemail
    2. launch 2Dial
    3. Use the app.

I would say the way this app should work is by launching itself after dialing voicemail (1) Otherwise it is kind of awkward.

Also, it would be if one hand navigation worked on the options keys. Sorry if it was brought up before.

    Thanks a lot Shimon,

Isn't it better to hook it to the voicemail button in the dialpad or Takephone and the let the user configure their voicemail number themselves? It's going to be a huge PITA to whip up new versions for every carrier in the world. E.g. I'm in The Netherlands and we have five different carriers here alone.

I'm with djr on this.... there are so many voicemail systems (Verizon Landline, Verizon Wireless, their worksite's corporate system, etc., and they occassionally change their menus. So, it would be great to have one that the user could configure for each voicemail system they use, and have them able to update it themselves.

For Sprint you dial your own number and the system recognizes it's coming from your phone then enters voicemail where you can key your passcode.

    Hi all,

Users can define as many "Profiles" as they need, to handle whatever system they dial into.
Right now it's limited to 10 profiles, but it will be expanded.

I will try make 2dial jump automatically as you call such a system - maybe through TAKEphONE.

I would be delighted if I could hook up with Sprint or Verizon or anyone to get automatic updates on system codes, but I think this is unlikely.

My home voice mail system also has:
    Skip
    Stop
    Repeat
    Record Memo
    Record New Outgoing Message

Can these be added with new icons?

Also, can there be an option to hide the button? Maybe a Hide checkbox? For instance, I use 5 of the available 12 buttons. I'd like to hide the unused 7 from my screen for that profile.

    Great work.
  18. #38
Great work, Shimon! Definitely worth paying for; I'm looking forward to your interfacing it with TakePhone somehow. Once it kicks in by itself when I call my voice-mail, I think it'll be perfect for my needs.

I use Takephone, had the idea for 2Day and now started the thread on 2Dial.

This is just 1 person's suggested use case.

Here's how I would use Takephone and 2Dial together- the integration:
    1) Takephone- create SpeedDial- HOME- with option to enable and select a 2Dial profile, eg. Home VMS
    2) If dial home- get prompt for 3 buttons (Stop) (Continue [to dial extra sounds]) or the new one (2Dial or Home VMS)
    3) If tap the (2Dial or Home VMS) it then opens the 2Dial app for that profile
    4) On exit, return to main Takephone screen

    Just an idea on use.

    Hi all,

    1. Since there are lots and lots of options for icons needed, it seems I will never be able to cover all the needs myself, so:
    - You can use a buttons without an icon - just type in the button name, and it will show up without an icon, but will be perfectly usable.
    - In future versions (if this turns out to be a "real" product), I will add ability to design or import icons.

    2. Option to hide unused buttons - great idea. Will add.

    3. TAKEphONE integration - I already thought of all these (great) ideas.
I did not want to tie this up with TAKEphONE, so I thought I'd have 2dial itself detect the number of a connected call, and jump up with that
    question "Use 2dial ?".
I am having trouble finding out the number of a connected call (the functions are not documented in the PalmOne API), so I might have to revert to depending on TAKEphONE after all.

    Thanks !
