I just came from the Treo 600 to a 650.

I don't see the ability to create a FLOATING event any longer.

The 600 had a version of Dtbk3 as it's calendar app. . . . the 650 went back to the Palm calendar app.

What do you mean by "floating" appointment? You can create "recurring" appointments.

    Cheers, Perry.

"Recurring" appointments can be made under details and "repeat."

    Cheers, Perry.

    Very funny.

Floating event is one that requires you check it off otherwise it will
just float over to the next day until it is checked off.

Big loss not having it any more!

You can use Tasks for that. . .

All kidding aside, the 600 was a Handspring device, and they licensed a "lite" version of DateBk3 as their Calendar. It was a better a Calendar app than the 650.

Install DateBk5 and you'll have that and more.

Thanks - DateBk5 is the solution I was looking for. I've installed it on my Treo 650
and have the demo but am already feeling better.

That "thing" in the back of your throat is called an "uvula". Not to be confused with your "vulva" which is something MOST men will not have... or at least shouldn't have.
    And...
Datebook5 is the way to go if you want floating events. I second the reccommendation. It also has something called save views so you can seperate your work calender from your personal calender. Or you can even set up a view just showing you peoples birthdays etc. .
    Great app...

It would be great if someone could write a small plug-in for the built in one. I like DateBk5 except there is no easy way to remove the bulit in ones (Palm) databases.

Still sound like a task instead of an appointment to me. . .

With Tasks, you can set an alarm if you like when it is due, and it will not go away until you check it off. I usually keep my tasks set to not show completed tasks, so they go away after I check them off.

Why not use Tasks for "floating"?
