Has anyone tried the headphones that come with the ROKR on their Treo??

My theory is if Motorola is the maker of the headphones there's a good possibility it will work.

The other day I was going through some old boxes. I came across an older Motorola hands free headset for my old Motorola "peanut phone". I tried it out in my Treo and it worked great. And had pretty decent sound quality.

I've gone through two Palm stereo headsets, where the connectors crap out.

There has to be a decent set of 2.5mm stereo headphones in the world that have a mic too.

Did you try it on Treo 600 or 650? I heard the 600 uses a different connector than the 650. I am interested in the possibility too.

    Thanks.

IMHO, there are no decent 2.5 headphones. I have heard the high end Seido headset and the sound was mediocre at best. Just get the Seido adapter and a good set of 3.5mm earbuds. If you are going to listen to a fair amount of music, get the Etymotic e6i from Amazon. If you want a cheaper but decent set, get the Sony EX71's.

I'm thinking of trying out a pair today at a Cingular store. Before I walk over there only to be dissapointed, can anyone say with absolute certainty that the ROKR headphones will NOT work with a Treo 650?

    Thanks!

gave up on waiting for a reply and went and tried them. No dice. No carrier in town has a pair of stereo headphones that will work on a Treo 650. Too bad, I needed a working pair for the slopes this weekend...

I just had to go drop my Seideo phones in a puddle yesterday

    time to order another pair

They have this offered for the 600:

But I don't see it offered for the 650 for some reason. That would allow you to use any good 3.5mm headphones and it gives you the inline mic too. A friend of mine said his seidio 2-in-1 Backphones for his old 600 work fine on his 650 which leads me to believe this adapter might work with your 650.

I LOVE my new high end Seidio enhanced audio 2 in 1s. I've used a ton of combo sets, and these are great. They might not compete with $350 Sennheisers or whatever - but, keep some perspective here folks. This is a PHONE. With a 2Gb or however big card. We're not Mutt Lange, mixing the latest Def Leppard greatest hits remix.

I second that, I used an adapter and dislodged my jack while the phone was wedged into my shorts at the gym - the adapter is a BAD idea.
