    Wow.

You learn something new every day. I didn't know this. It was always frustrating for me trying to press the flashing asterilk with my finger. I almost always had to end up removing the stylus.

    Thanks Bill.

I knew this from the time I got it because I would let gf play with the Treo and she kept complaining that the alerts screen was coming up. "Just tap the button to select something, don't hold the button down!"

This trick was as helpful as when I realized you can press up in the Phone app to get to the Voicemail icon. For some reason I always tried to hit it with my finger and would always miss

Heh. I *write* user manuals as a part of my living, but even I was a little amazed that my treo has a 240-something-page manual. That's a lot to digest...

Progress? Well, at least I can get color traffic maps now...

It is. But for referencing, I prefer .pdf's. You can use the Search button in Acrobat and just type in a word, like "Alert." It'll pop up a box of every mention of the word, and you can just click to the page.

That happens to me with Chatter, it makes the missed call alert go away.

Try Butler, which will let you set your LED to flash or change colors when you miss a call.

Hi. When i miss a call, have a new voicemail or have some other kind of msg, i cannot figure out how to display the alerts screen without taking out the stylus and hitting the flashing "asterisk" at the top left of the screen. is there a stylus free option to get this? sorry if it is written in big BOLD LETTERs on my forehead how to do this and i just didn't see it.

    thanks,

    Hold down the center button.

If you've overwritten that. There's a program called "alerts" which you can map to a button.
