Xpress Mail usually works OK, but sometimes the GPRS disconnects all by itself (time out? Changing cells? Some other reason?) and no push emails will come until forcing a manual synch.

And sometimes there seems to be a problem with the desktop client sleeping on the job... Both the Treo and website access of email fail to connect, requiring a disconnect and reconnect. Annoying, makes utility virtually nil.

    Any solutions?

If the connection times out for a sufficiently long time then the server will tag the device for suppression, meaning that it tried to send messages but after 4 attempts it failed. This is a fail safe mechanism to prevent push requests (really SMS messages) from going to phones where the number may have changed and been passed to another subscriber. Also it prevents the continual messages being sent to an unresponsive device that is out of service or turned off. Doing a manual sync resets the server for your device and then the scenario starts again.

If your Dekstop is hanging up then taking a look at the slingshot.log file may yield some clues. Turn on the debuging mode built into Tools->Settings->Advanced Settings dialog in the lower left to Enable Debug Logging. Between this and the Connector.log file it usually will help figure out the cause. I have a number of debugging posts scattered here on TC.
