Anyone direct me to a correct download of EFax for the Treo 650? Can't seem to locate it anywhere. The EFax people were useless on the phone. I had this as a trial on my Treo recently then went thru a series of hard resets caused by something else. I got rid of some stuff (Efax being one of the apps) and I can't seem to find it again.

    Thanks

From what I can tell, there is no eFax app for palm devices; but you can use Acid Image to view faxes sent via eFax on your Treo.

I agree with Bill, except that you need Acid Image Pro (the Pro version) to view the .tiff files. Then, set up efax to deliver the faxes as .tiff files, and not .efx files. (You may need a paid account for this. If so, try the J2 fax provider, which is owned by the same company. I have had a free J2 account for years, and always receive my faxes from them in .tiff format. I also have a paid efax account with a local number.

Finally, I seem to recall that the "Pics and Video" app on the Treo can view a .tiff file, just not nearly as well as Acid Image Pro. Acid Image Pro is expensive, but it is by far the best .tiff viewer for Palm devices. It lets you easily zoom in/out, pan around, rotate, etc., and works well with the Treo's 5-way button.

I *JUST* tried this; the Treo Media app can view TIF files! If your fax service sends you TIFs, save them to the SDCard to the /DCIM folder. Then exit your mailer and run the Media app. Jump to the SD card, and there's your TIFs!

This is not without problems, however:

    1. There are only two Zoom settings: Too Big and Too Small. ;-) But if you don't mind a lot of scrolling, it is passable.

    2. Multipage faxes; for my internet faxing service, I can only see page 1. Fortunately, those are all I usually get.

As for a cheaper option than AcidImage Pro, Resco has a photo viewer that can read TIFs, and it is only $25. Locate it at: http://resco.net/palm/photoviewer/default.asp

Well, I am using ChatterMail, and for attachments, there's an option to either save it or open it. When I click Save, I can navigate to the SDcard and to whatever folder I want.

I suppose you could save it to whereever your own email program wants to save it, and then use a freeware file manager like FileZ to move to to the SDCard, and THEN use Media to open it.
