I am trying to import my address book into the Palm desktop application. The file I am importing (I have tried CSV and vCard formats) has multiple email addresses associated with some contacts. Palm only seems to import one of the email addresses.

How can I get Palm the import all the email addresses for each contact?

The way I see the Palm contacts in the Palm desktop, there is only one field for an email address.

    Hi Marc1 !

Not sure on how to import more than one, but the contact application on the Treo has 5 lines for input. . . . 5 phone numbers or 5 emails addresses or . . . .any combination up to 5 total. . . . .

    Cheers, Perry.

If you send yourself the vCard via email and open it with Contacts, the whole record - all addresses - should make it.

You mean use an email client on my Palm to read an email that has my vCards
attached...then I open the attachment on the Palm and it will be imported into my contacts?

I will try that, but it seems like a fairly akward way to import all my contacts.

I agree, but I only suggest it because of your report that the Palm Desktop seems to be broken in this regard.

    thanks bill!

for some reason, there are some space characters that were inserted into some of the data, but indeed this method does work for getting more than one person's email address.

how odd. i appreciate the work around. if anyone else has any other suggestions, please post.

I am pretty surprised that this isn't a biggger issue for others.

Upon further inspection, i noticed that a lot of the data is not correct. I imported a .vcf file that had about 116 contacts.

I found a number of contacts that were missing, but had their telephone numbers and emails within other people's contacts. it is a mess.

so i guess this really is not a workable solution after all.

Sorry about that. I've known other users who had success with it, but I guess they were moving from the old Address db that only had one address per contact.

Do things work better if you use fewer records per vcf file? 1 to 10 at a time, perhaps?

If neither the Palm Desktop nor the Treo itself can accept the data whole - the only other solution I can think of, though drastic, is...to import them into Outlook and sync from there.
