Come on, I know there's at least a couple of you.

First, I'm hoping to convince ConfusedVorlon to add some sort of DA support to Butler's keylaunch. Please check this out and post if you're supportive (and please try and avoid posting other suggestions).

Second, I'd like to encourage developers to create and support more DA apps (updated daMemoPad, Calanders, Calculators, Clocks, System Info, ect.). So, if you have interest in DAs on the Treo 650, post up and lets show it.

Excuse my ignorance, what what are DAs?

They are like hacks under Palm OS 4. DAs (Desktop Accessories) are applications that can run without closing the app you are already using. Some examples include a stopwatch, volume control, calculator etc.

I don't see the point; the functionality is really already there. If you enable "Menu Hold = Command" in Butler's Miscellaneous utilities, then you can easily launch DA Launcher by holding the menu button and tapping the DA icon on the command bar.

Butler does so much on it's own. And is developed and supported so well. Besides, I like the idea of launching apps the same way. Not, hold button for this app. Double tap for that app. Hold Menu, launch this, tap again, for another app.

If it's not relevant, which is generally the case for some reason, then don't follow up with the link.

What about interest in new DAs. Any interest there?

As stated, DAs pop up over the exisiting app with closing or losing its place.

For example: while on the web with Blazer I sometimes find info I'd like to note. Currently, I'd have to switch to memo to make the note, then switch back to Blazer and wait for the page to reload, then refind where I was reading on the page.

With a DA, like daMemoPad (not very stable on Treo 650), I could just pop up a small memo screen while still in Blazer, make the note, close the DA, and still be in the same spot.

I miss my ReplaceDA. BTW, is there a good replace app/hack?

If you want a nice DA launcher for Garnet, checkout QLaunch:

    http://www.digitsense.com/palmos/qlaunch/index.asp

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to support the thumbboard for launching yet, but perhaps you can get around that by setting a favorite and then using Klaunch in Butler?

One of the reasons I choose to ignore McPhling's hede hit is that serves as my favorite DA launcher.

PetitLaunch is my new favorite launcher. Launches DA's, commands and apps.
    And its free!

TealLaunch also support launching DA's. This launcher now supports many of the Treo 650 function keys and launching through keyboard keys of the 650. I use DA's especially for debugging. DA's alow me to look at DBcache within/while TomTom is running. Would be nice to have a copy/cut/paste DA for apss that dont support ccp.
