OK, I can't seem to get a straight answer off the many web sites I've been searching. My Q:

Is there a relatively easy way to read PDFs on my treo 650?

Can I convert it to palm database? to another file? is there a reader? Anyone?
I would love to just get a straight answer (and explanation) to my question. The web has just been sending me in circles. *sighs*

    Thanks much,
    Jeff

You can download a reader from Adobes site.

The problem is these files need converted. If someone were to email a pdf to you, you would not be able to view it, without converting first.

Even picsel is hit or miss. Some get it working fine, others not. Be sure to read that thread thoroughly

to convert a pdf to palm doc, first you have to select all text in the pdf, copy it, then paste it in a text document. Any doc reader should be able to read txt files. if that does't work use a txt to prc convertor.

Before you spend a lot of effort trying to find Picsel Browser (Viewer) online it does have one huge draw back. It has no search capability. If your PDF document is more than a few pages it can be tedious indeed to find information with it.

I can't speak for the PC version of the Treo Software install disk but Adobe Reader and a drag and drop App for the Mac was on the Mac disk. You simply click on the install program and the App is installed on your host machine. You install the Adobe Reader .prc in the usual manner on the Treo. Now all you have to do is to drag the PDF file on the host and it is automatically converted and made available for use at the next HotSync operation.

True you cannot immediately convert a downloaded PDF on the Treo. But for large documents having the ability to search the file is more important in my opinion.

try www.pdf2pda.com - clean, simple, and it works great on a Treo 650.

I've had very bad luck with Adobe's Palm PDF converter/viewer. It almost always generates some kind of error with respect to formatting. After that it either makes a very poor copy of the document or no copy at all.
