OK, I just got my Treo 650 last night and am still playing around with it so have a potentially dumb question or two.

    1) What does the Radio feature do in general?

    2) What does the Radio do with Chattermail?

    Thanks!

I think 'Radio' is the worst Treo term I know of, but it really refers to the 'Phone' application. When you turn your phone On/Off this is the 'Radio' function.

Not to be confused with ham, AM, or FM !!

Maybe got it's name from the 'broadcast' analogy. Don't know.

You have a radio chipset in your phone that handles all of your cellular transmissions. Cellular transmissions work on RF (radio frenquency) waves just like AM/FM transmissions do. This is the correct terminology.

The Treo is basically a Palm Pilot and a radio... The radio is the part that must be off during all parts of a commercial flight, for example, while the Palm part can remain on for most of a flight.
