I am unable to sync my calendar and contacts via the sync cable provided by Verizon. I have also tried using bluetooth to sync but with the same results.

After reading some of the post I installed the DBscan and removed all the records from palm source and palm one. Can anyone give me a new direction to try? I have included the log file below:

I found this information provided by palm and it has solved my issues:

The Verizon version of the Treo 650 smartphone includes a Wireless Sync application. Other versions of Treo 650, and other Palm devices, do not have this.

Even if you do not use Wireless Sync, its settings may be causing the OLERR message. Here's how to change your settings to work more amicably with Outlook:

On your Verizon Treo 650, launch the Wireless Sync application.
    Press Menu .
From the Setup menu, select Connection Settings.
    Select Advanced.
Add a checkmark to the box for "Enable Other Sync Apps."
    Select OK,

Well, first of all, you didn't follow the dbscan instructions, which are:
    1. Launch dbScan
    2. Tap on Neither
    3. Remove Deleted Records from both Palmone and Palmsource databases

I'm afraid that you may have chosen to completely delete both the Palmone and Palmsource databases completely.

Launch your Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos applications. Are they devoid of all information? Is that what you wanted?

Is there information on the desktop? If so, don't synchronize until you've adjusted the action of the individual conduits.

For some reason when I sync now, my Outlook Calendar is not syncing. I have it set to "synchronize the files." When I view the HotSync Log at the end of the sync, sure enough it tells me "Outlook Calendar synchronization failed."

What could be causing this? I do have a new Treo, but used Backup Man to just put everything on it (just basically did a restore). Could it be related to that? If not, I have no clue....

    Thanks!

I recently had the same problem after a hard reset and a restore from Backup Man. In the end, I deleted my Calendar from within Outlook and resynched with it set to have the Handheld overwrite the Desktop. (I also did the same thing with Outlook Contacts, but am not sure that was necessary.) After that, it synched fine. This assumes, of course, that your handheld has the latest information. One word of caution; backup your Outlook "pst" file just in case something goes wrong.

    I would try dbScan, first.

Not working. At this point, I've lost my Outlook Calendar (I didn't back up, but I knew I had it in my phone anyway, so whatev). I tried syncing with Handheld overwrites Desktop, but I still get the "Outlook Calendar synchronization failed." When I tried Desktop overwrites Handheld, it did just that, so I lost the calendar on my Treo as well (no big deal, as I have Backup Man). But obviously it DID sync that direction, since it wiped out the calendar. So I did Backup Man to restore my calendar and tried "Handheld overwrites Desktop" again. Nothing.

The Sync Log is giving me this:

    Outlook Calendar
    OLERR:05-0013
    OLERR:12-0012
    OLERR:0D-0006
    OLERR:0D-0004
    OLERR:0D-0001
    - Fast Sync
    Outlook Calendar synchronization failed

    Any ideas?

Try a Control-Alt-Delete and see if Outlook.exe is actually running. I get an error like this if Outlook is on in the background, and open on another outlook account other than mine.

    That did it.

    Thank you so much.

I bet it was running dbScan that fixed this.

This fixed all of my problems. After setting up the Wireless Sync App the 650 just wouldn't act right. After trying hard reset et al, this finally saved my treo from the recyling bin. As a matter of fact, this advice compelled me to register to thank you.

    <merged>

I got myself into error when I hard reset my 650 and restore back from my desktop and also run a restore from my BBNet backup since my BBNet was more current than my desktop.

First time sync with the desktop after BBNet sync:
HotSync operation started for Ronnie Bordador on 05/16/06 09:16:47

I followed the Palm Knowledgebase on See section on "Give all recurring Calendar events an end date" (Page down)

That fixed my problem at least.

    This is a good post:

On your Verizon Treo 650, launch the Wireless Sync application.
    Press Menu .
From the Setup menu, select Connection Settings.
    Select Advanced.
Add a checkmark to the box for "Enable Other Sync Apps."
    Select OK,

Apply this same concept to the 700P and it solved my problems....

Had the same problem - used troubleshoot from Palm's website above and was able to locate two problems: 1) recurring events with no end and 2) events that ran overnight (past 12am). Once i fixed these in Outlook, i had no problems syncing.

metric, if you're ever in Denver I owe you a beer! Multiple beers! This worked like a charm.

One thing I noticed is that for every multi-day event on my calendar, the synching process split them up into individual daily events on both my handheld and Outlook calendars. The workaround for this is to not specify specific times when you are entering multi-day events. Hot Sync appears to not have any problems with that whatsoever.

    I'm a happy man!!

FWIW, I just had the same problem.
I set calendar to desktop overwrites handheld, did one sync and am back in business.

    steps to do that:
    1) right click on hotsync icon in system tray
    2) select custom
    3) select calendar and click change
    4) set desktop overwrites handheld
    5) do not check 'set as default'

you'll lose any changes you have made on the handheld since the last succesfull sync.

okay, my sprint t650 has stopped syncing with outlook- however, I have already used dbscan (correctly!) and my log does not show any errors or failures.

Info from treo calendar syncs to laptop but info from laptop contacts does not xfer to treo???

    OK Quick Install
    OK Adobe Reader
    OK VersaMail
    OK Media
    OK Documents To Go

    OK Outlook Calendar

    OK Outlook Contacts
    Outlook Tasks
    - Fast Sync
    OK Outlook Tasks
    Outlook Notes
    - Fast Sync
    OK Outlook Notes

is it because I am fast syncing? should I slow it down? is that possible? help!
