This might sound silly, but are there any applications that can announce the time on the Treo?

I can see on the hour the Treo announcing through the speakerphone "The time is 1pm".

Palmary Clock includes a chime feature that can be set to go off on the hour, half hour etc on certain days of the week and use a ringtone or mp3. Doesn't announce with speech but a nice tone of your choice
    Palm III > HS Visor > Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 750 > Treo Pro > PrePlus GSM

Eeesh, reminds me of those horrible wall clocks from the 60's that would go "ding-dong bing-bong, bing-bong ding-dong ... bonggg, bonggg, bonggg, bonggg" every quarter hour of the day. I imagine it slowly driving housewives mad as they sit and sew.

My father in law has a clock that does that every 15 minutes.. Three short bongs.. Then every hour it does N number of long bongs, one per hour.

Very, very, very annoying.. But I figure every few hours announcing the time would be neat, but probably not to be used all the time.

Interesting. It would be nicer if we could choose which button activates it. For some reason, at 10:31 it said 10:35.

    changes
    --------
    - fixed the bug when annoucing the 1 minute. it has the wrong voice file
    - added houlry chime. you must check the Hourly checbox then set the from and to as
miltary time unit. eg: if you want to say the hourly time from 8am to 6pm to set
    it as 8 - 18

    here is the link http://www.toysoft.ca/downloads/sayTime.prc

    have fun!

    Awesome...thanks Smiley!

It looks like the sound volume is based on the general system volume. Is there any way we can make it based on the speakerphone volume (or anything else), as I generally mute my general system volume so I don't hear beeps every time a key is pressed? Is this even possible?

    Thanks so much!

Great program smiley. It would be great if the user could configure it to say the time when the program is launched.
