No one has lots of received and sent SMS's?

Do you keep all that in RAM?

Is it backed up to the PC on Hotsync?

    The file is "Messages Database".

I guess you could just copy it over to a card if you wanted. Probably not quite the answer you wanted, but the only one I can think of.

The file is "Messages_Database.pdb", and yes, it's backed up to the PC during Hotsync.

These will be a snapshot of the current messages in RAM.. I suppose I'll have to copy them elsewhere periodically and save them to keep an archive of messages.

The things take up lots of space in RAM, especially if some are MMS's.

Looks like a choice candidate for a developer to write am SMS Manager type of software ...

There is an app called FunSMS desktop companion that is supposed to let you archive you sms db's to the desktop:

Thanks. Looks like it works with their SMS program funSMS.

Added together, it is about $50 (and lots of RAM, I suppose). I'll pass (and hope for a simpler solution like a conduit for messaging from Palm or bundled with Chapura's products...)
