    Hi Vicki!

This has never happened to me. Have you tried a soft reset?
  3.    #3
I did, Perry. Nothing!!! Zip!!! Nada!!!! Zilch!!!

I'm setting up the accounts again. Kinda sucks, huh?

It seems as though my 650 has a mind of it's own. Somtimes I can slap it back into submission.........

    sometimes it just refuses!!

The accounts being wiped out is weird. The file or files that retain this info, obviously got wiped out. But how?

Yeah, set them up again. If it happens again, maybe you can find a similiarity between the two occurences, as to what you did with the Treo just before the accounts went missing. (Left the Treo in VersaMail, it timed out and then you got a phone call?) Stuff like that, may help you zero in on it, if it continues to occur.

Thanks a bunch, Perry. I'll keep my eye on it.

Are you syncing Versamail setup info with the desktop?
If so, did you delete the conduit somehow?
If somehow that conduit was deleted, and is set to sync, then I believe your accounts on the handheld will also. I'm not sure of this so I hope someone with some knowledge about this can enlighten.

    This was my experience:
I had versamail setup with the conduit.
When I switched to Chatter, I used ConduitBuddy to delete the Versamail conduit. After a hotsync I noticed my versamail configuration was wiped.
I assumed that was the cause.

Possibly. hmmmm...... so many things to go wrong. I was having problems with eWallet and I deleted it. I wonder if somehow that changed things. Desktop is at home, I'm at work.

I'll have a look at it when I get home tonight. That is certainly another thing to think about.

I can't think how I even find out if it was set to sync with the desktop.

It's Friday and I MUST be suffering from a case of the "dummies". Am I the ONLY ONE who gets those???

I have done everything, including a hard reset and still Versamail doesn't work. It keeps giving me an error.... unable to establish PPP connection.

I don't really want to sync versamail, just set up accounts and go out over the web to retrieve/send e-mail.

Ok, I'm dumb. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

That's not a Versamail error, it's a network connection error. Launch Preferences, select Network (under Communication) and tap Connect. Does it connect? If so, can you then browse via Web?

What's blank? The Network screen in the Preferences app? Tap the Services dropdown arrow...are any choices shown?

The services are supplied by your carrier. Take out your SIM, perform a soft reset, replace the SIM and perform another soft reset...does that help?

Bill, you're really a sweetie to try to help. I have Sprint so I don't think I have a SIM, do I? I did just try a soft reset but nothing. I will call Sprint and ask them what's going on. Perhaps their tech support guys can earn their living...... for a change.

    You're still awesome!!!

Putting aside my awesome sweetness , I should've asked...yes, you're right - a CDMA phone wouldn't have a SIM. Having never used one, I'm not even sure if a CDMA phone shows anything at all on the network screen - calling Sprint is definitely the thing to do.

To put the end to this story, I called Sprint, spent 45 minutes on the phone with this techie guy who had me putting in ## codes and all kinds of stuff. He was able to get the Sprint Vision address back into the phone but it still wouldn't work. I was advised to take the phone to a service center location.

So I drove half-way across town.... anyway, to make a very long and hot (car thermometer said 104 degrees) story short, somehow or another, I'm sure by devine intervention, maybe sun spots, who knows, the PCS Vision software got deleted from my phone. Interesting, huh? One woulda thought that kinda stuff would be flashed into ROM or somethin'.

Anyway, Treo is back up and operational. It even browses and fetches my e-mail, like a good Treo is supposed to. This tells me the next time stuff starts to go buggy to just do a hard reset right then and there.

Thanks, guys, for putting up with my ignorance.

    Vicki
