I used to have a tmobile sidekick and on this device there was as something called "autotext" which basically you type "ty" and it will type out "thank you" for you. Was very handy and greatly increased text entry speeds.

Is there any equivalent program for palm?

    Thanks so much

This is the best one that I've seen, it happens to be freeware and it seems to work quite well. It's called "ShortCut5 1.5"

Use ShortCut5. It is the best application of its kind and it is free as well.

Another vote for ShortCut5. If you have an old Palm, you can also get the native shortcuts mechanism to work by transferring some files over to your Treo. Check out http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=92902
