    Hello,

each time I did a backup with apps like Backupman, BackupBuddyVFS or RescoBackup (I tried all three), I can not start TomTom Navigator 5 on my Treo 650 without a soft reset. TTN5 tells me then that there is not enough memory available...

RescoLock gives me the following information:

    Before backup:
    Dynamic: 4831/5440
    Storage: 13536/23024
    MaxDynChunk: 3043k
    MaxStarChunk: 13536k
    DBCache: 5736k

    After backup:
    Dynamic: 4831/5440
    Storage: 13524/23024
    MaxDynChunk: 3043k
    MaxStarChunk: 13524k
    DBCache: 2612k

The backup apps seem to decrease DBcache. After a soft reset everything is back to normal and TTN5 starts without any problems.

Do you experience the same? Any ideas what I can do? Or can other apps decrease dbcache and how can I find them?

    THANK YOU!

    Greetings from Germany, MacBaren

    Normal behavior.

You should do a soft reset (or preferably warm reset) before the backup and a soft reset afterwards.

Is there any chance to automate a reset? Smething like "do a soft reset when RescoBackup has finished a scheduled backup at night"?

Yes. I use LookAtMe to schedule soft resets using mReset before and after BackupBuddyVFS runs each night.
