I've got a Sprint Treo 650 that I've converted to the Verizon network. I just tried copying shadowtime's hacked BTManager file onto the phone via SD card. I used the Verizon one as that's my carrier. Now when I try and run the Bluetooth manager it gives: "Launch Error - The application cannot be launched because it is missing localization information." I then tried to delete the BTManager file using FileZ but everytime I select it and hit delete the phone restarts.I've tried copying over it but the phone says "The destination file already exists. Please delete the destination file and try again." I've also tried the Sprint BTManager.patched as well with no luck.

How do I restore the correct file from ROM or delete the file? I'm really anxious because this will be providing my main network access over the next month while I'm travelling. Plus I just bought a BT GPS I need to connect to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    1. Perform a warm reset: while holding the 'up' rocker of the 5way pad, perform a regular soft reset.
    2. Delete the file in question.
    3. Perform a soft reset.

    BG,

Thanks for the tip, but still no luck. I performed the warm reset a couple of times, but it still resets as soon as I try to delete the file. At this point I'm considering doing a hard reset and start fresh. Any other advice?

Here's the error code it reports after restarting:
"A reset was caused on 8/18/05 at 201 pm while running 'Filez':
list.c, Line:248, Unable to open file in LoadDBDetails()."

If such is the case, my friend, then I fear a hard reset is the only course of action left. Hotsync, delete the offending file from your backup directory, perform a hard reset and hotysnc again.

This is an ancient thread, but I just ran into the same problem and figured out what to do, so in case anyone else has this problem, they won't have to go through all the pain I did trying multiple resets, backups, restores, etc.

What happened was that somehow I did an improper backup (while workong on another problem) and somehow got the hacked btmanager.prc back onto my phone even though I'm now using verizon ROM 1.05a, for which the hack doesn't work. Anyway, you can in fact use FileZ to delete btmanager.prc, but first you have to select the file (so a check mark appears by it), select "Details", select the "Attrs" tab, and you'll see a check mark by "copy protect." Select "Close", and now you can re-select the file and delete it. At least, that worked for me.
