    Hi,

    Get it at www.shsh.com/beta

Option is at the "PalmOne Treo" preferences page.

    Thanks.

It's nice to have a 3rd Party work-around for this long DTMF issue and all, but it is my opinion (FWIW) that PalmOne should fix this problem.

DTMF tones should either be shorter or they should give us a setting to control their length.

    Anybody else agree??

I say this especially because these long DTMFs seem to be a result of the latest SW Update from PalmOne (based on what I have read on the various Treo forums including the one on palmone.com).

Let's rally the troops and get this fixed. Everyone call PalmOne Support!

Has anyone with the DMTF issue tried this workaround? Does it work?

The button fix was for another problem that one other member was having with Takephone.

If you're asking if Takephone actually solved the DTMF problem, the answer is, I don't know. I noticed nothing different to be honest. And the DTMF problem itself is not consistent, so it's hard to test.

I have not noticed any difference from using that option in Takephone. Palm has indicated that they are aware of the issue and are working to devleop a patch - but who knows how long that will take. In the meantime, I can't easily check my work voice mail from my cell.

    Hi,

Yes - the option in TAKEphONE does not fix this for the new f/w.

All it does is change the inter-digit pause, not the digit length.

For those of you having DTMF problems and are daring, consider applying unofficial FW 1.43 (see post #28):
    http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?p=816378

I didn't have much of a DTMF problem before, but I will say that after moving to FW 1.43, my tones are noticably faster now.

Of course, it is also possible that you will be entirely unable to even access your phone if the unofficial FW update doesn't go smoothly. I will wait for the official release. At least then I will justified at being upset with P1 for screwing up my thousand dollar investment.

If I'm repeating what someone has already said look at how long the thread is and ask yourself if you really expect me to read the whole thing.

Of course, such an action would be at one's own risk. It's just that among those in this thread are former early adopters of the previous unofficial updates - and they might find this one of interest.

    Bill Gamble,

thank you. i also read your post about shorter DTMF in the other thread.

unfotunately for me, i already planned going back to PDA+Nokia cellphone solution.

nonetheless, i will still apply the new firmware if it was officially released before i sold my treo.

    thanks,

I have also put the 1.46 firmware on my Treo. I was not able to access my work voicemail before. But it works fine now. The last big gripe with my Treo is gone!

I had posted this problem on my cdma treo some months - I'm not able to get to my husband's work. Instead, I get his fax line. It was a real drag when his cell phone wasn't work for a couple of days.
